Enrollment Record For The First Term 1967-68: 10,220, University Of Dayton

The enrollment at the University of Dayton for the first term of the 1967-68 school year is a record 10,220. The total is 157 students over last fall's record of 10,063, Rev. Charles J. Lees, S.M., University Provost, announced today. The 10,220 includes full-time and part-time students. Father Lees said that the full-time undergraduate enrollment is 7,456, while the total number of part-time students is 2,764. Of the full-time figure, about half, or 3,736, are from Ohio. Daytonians attending full-time number 1,598, while 1,885 of the 2,764 part-time students are from the city.

Art Gallery Hosts An Exhibit Of 40 Works From National Gallery Of Art, University Of Dayton

The Kennedy Union Art Gallery of the University of Dayton will host an exhibit of 40 water colors from the National Gallery at Art in Washington, D.C., from November 26 - December 1, and December 11-18. The water colors, depicting the toy as it has developed throughout history, are part of the Index of American Design. This is a collection of watercolors of the folk arts and crafts in the United States. The Index was a Federal art project started in the late 1930s as a record of designs of artistic and historic significance.

Area Singers Invited For Christmas Chorus, University Of Dayton

The University of Dayton once again invites area singers to participate in the University-Community Chorus which begins rehearsals on Sunday, November 19, at 3:00 p.m. in the Kennedy Union Ballroom for the 18th annual University of Dayton Christmas concert. The concert is scheduled for December 10 in the UD Fieldhouse. The nucleus of the chorus is the University Choir under the direction of Lawrence E. Tagg of UD' s Music Department. Last year's group numbered 250 singers from over 30 churches and 20 schools in the Dayton area.

Dr. Sidney W. McCuskey, a noted lecturer and educator on astronomy, will be the guest speaker Thursday, November 16, at the weekly colloquium of the University of Dayton's Department of Physics. Dr. McCuskey, Chairman of the Astronomy Department at Case-Western Reserve University, will discuss "The Structure and Formation of a Galaxy" in UD's Sherman Hall of Science at 8 p.m. Dr. McCuskey also is Director of the Warner and Swasey Observatory at Case-Western Reserve.
