The story of the juggler, in brief, is a story about vocation and the gifts we each have to offer. On Christmas Eve, a juggler performs for a statue of the Virgin Mary and the Infant Jesus, scandalizing the other monks in his community. Juggling is not appropriate — not the kind of gift one should give. In other words, not appropriately intellectual or elevated, like the gift of a book or a poem. But those judgmental observers are wrong because when the juggler has finished his performance and collapsed in exhaustion, the statue comes to life: The Infant Jesus …

The title Simple Gifts inspired our devising ensemble to get started putting together the play you will be experiencing tonight. We also took inspiration from the Medieval story surrounding you in the gallery. In the story, it is a simple gift that transcends. A juggler, instead of gifting an object, provides an experience. The juggler has a gift from God that cannot be given away, but only shared. A shared experience of wonder and joy is the guiding principle for tonight’s performance. Mobile Technology Usage In The College Classroom And Its Relational Implications, Joe C. Martin

Basic Communication Course Annual

This study examines the relational implications of the presence of mobile technology within the basic communication course. To investigate this phenomenon a survey design was employed, and participants were asked to respond to open-ended, closed-ended, and descriptive questions. Results of this study shed light upon how and when university students use technology, as well as the positive and detrimental results such usage has upon the development and quality of their relationships in the classroom, both with instructors and other students.
