The design of next-generation combustion systems relies on computer simulations that capture the multidimensional and multiscale physics of turbulent reacting flows. These simulations are computationally intensive, requiring trade-offs to produce results within allowable time and cost constraints. This dissertation investigates advanced control strategies to improve performance and reduce fatigue loads in both land-based and floating offshore wind turbines. The proposed approaches target fatigue load mitigation at critical component frequencies while ensuring rotor speed regulation and efficient power generation. The control strategies are implemented and validated using both our in-house modeling and simulation platform, CRAFTS (Control Oriented Reconfigurable Acausal Floating Turbine Simulator), and the industry-standard OpenFAST model.

The advent of the bildungsroman with Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe’s Wilhelm Meister’s Apprenticeship was a seminal moment in literature. From that point onward, the genre, which would come to be known as the “coming-of-age” novel, evolved and as such developed a variety of subgenres. This thesis focuses on the queer bildungsroman, a subgenre which has been dubbed the “coming-out” novel. Through Judith Butler’s work, I conceptualize genre as gender. Florida’s dual enrollment program is an offering within the state’s basic education package, allowing secondary students to participate in postsecondary courses while simultaneously earning secondary and postsecondary credit. In Florida, around 80,000 students participate annually, and 1.5 million students are within the grade range eligible for participation in the program. This thesis analyzes how the program, and subsequently eligible students, are granted constitutional protections under the Fourteenth Amendment. Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, 29 peer-reviewed articles published in open access between 2014 and 2024 were selected to evaluate the status of safety culture dimensions employed in the petrochemical sector. This cross-sectional study assessed safety culture in the Saudi Arabian petrochemical industry and examined the relationships among safety culture dimensions, safety motivation (SM), and safety performance.
