Adaptation To Pregnancy As A Function Of Sex-Role, Anne Heidrich Diebel
Retrospective Theses and Dissertations
Forty-four pregnant women were examined to determine how individual differences in sex-role orientation, as assessed by the Bem Sex-Role Inventory, were related to continued sexual interest, activity, and satisfaction in pregnancy. Subjects were further examined to determine the effects of sex-role identity upon third trimester anxiety levels as assessed by the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, upon physical experience of pregnancy, upon emotional response to pregnancy, and upon labor and delivery records. Subjects were examined periodically in the third trimester of pregnancy to determine current levels of functioning as well as to acquire retrospective prepregnancy and first and second trimester data. Prediction Of Football-Playing Ability In Spring Training Tryouts Through The Use Of Psychobiomotor Assessment, Michael D. Secunda

Psychobiomotor assessment refers to the use of a combination of psychological, biological, and motor-performance tests to comprehensively analyze the skills, attributes, and performance capabilities of athletes. The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that there are significant psychobiomotor differences between successful collegiate football players in the offensive backfield positions and those players who are rates as less successful in these positions. Subjects were 19 male volunteer tryouts (mean age = 20.5) for the positions of quarterback and halfback on the inaugural University of Central Florida football team. Role Ambiguity, Role Conflict, Type A-B Behavior, Job Performance, And Psychosomatic Dysfunction, John Steven Mattone

The main purpose of the present study was to determine empirically whether differences in perceived role conflict, role ambiguity, and Type A proclivities are associated with differences in perceived psychosomatic dysfunction. Moreover, an ancillary purpose of the present study was to determine whether differences in perceived job performance were associated with Type A-B tendencies and perceived role conflict and ambiguity. Data for 72 workers from all levels of two types of organizations (i.e., citizen protection and health) were obtained. All workers completed a role conflict and ambiguity measure, a 15-item self-report index of psychosomatic dysfunction, a 7-poimt measure of job …

This research evaluated various mass transportation alternatives for the commuting students, faculty and staff of the University of Central Florida (U.C.F.), located at Orlando. The alternatives considered in this research are bus service, van service / minibus service, vanpool, carpool, and bicycle and pedestrian modes. During the life-time of the University the private automobile has been the only prevalent mode of transportation used by the U.C.F. commuters. Opinion surveys conducted in the summer of 1979 indicated that the U.C.F. commuters are confronted with a number of transportation problems including lack of parking spaces on campus, traffic congestion on the access …

Sewer System Evaluation Surveys Conducted In Industrial Plants, Robert B. Cadle

"Sewer System Evaluation Surveys Conducted in Industrial Sewers," describes the methods employed and the results of Sewer System Evaluation Survey studies conducted at two industrial complexes. The procedural techniques for locating and quantifying infiltration and inflow into sewer systems represented to provide a basic understanding of the steps required to complete such studies. Case studies of actual surveys conducted at two privately operated industrial plants in Tennessee are presented to illustrate the utilization of the investigative techniques. The results of the studies are compared with each other and with similar studies conducted in municipal sewer systems.
