Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) is known to be a good ligand towards the formation of DMSO-complexed compounds. This work is concerned with the evaluation of the magnetic and kinetic properties of these compounds in DMSO solution. DMSO-complexed compounds of the transition metal ions, Cu(II), Ni (II), Co (II), Fe (II), Mn (II), Fe (III), and Cr(III) were studied.From the nmr spectra of these compounds, it is noted that the peak of the methyl proton shifts downfield with respect to that of the pure DMSO. The electron spin-nuclear spin coupling constants, An, were calculated to be all positive in sign. Unpaired electrons must …

Contained within this thesis are the solutions for the stress distribution in a disc of uniform thickness when evenly spaced, radially directed loads, uniformly distributed over the thickness of the disc, are applied; and the stress distribution in the disc when evenly spaced in-plane moments are applied to the disc.

The development of the problem of vehicle speed regulation and vehicle speed monitoring has indicated a need for an instrument which will provide this information.The cost and complexity of existing equipment which will perform this service places these instruments out of reach of the average motorist.This thesis defines this need and presents a design which will fulfill the need.
