Background: Climate change is not only a global challenge but also a strategic issue of development in Indonesia. The Medan City Government has implemented various mitigation and adaptation efforts, yet it continues to produce greenhouse gas emissions and is exposed to climate change impacts. Environmental disasters have frequently been shown to impact the psycho-emotional states of humans, a phenomenon commonly termed eco-anxiety. Individuals who engage in close interactions with the environment may encounter more significant repercussions than other groups, including environmental volunteers. This study seeks to investigate the phenomenon of ecological anxiety among environmental volunteers. The study employed a qualitative phenomenological methodology, using three environmental volunteers as participants. Data were gathered through semi-structured, comprehensive interviews and analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The results indicate that participants experienced the effects of environmental issues in three ways: emotionally, cognitively, and in their daily lives. Among …

This article examines the opposition strategy of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in Indonesia’s multiparty presidential system during President Joko Widodo’s administration. Departing from the weakening of opposition caused by the expansion of the governing coalition and the tendency toward party cartelization, this article addresses the question of why PKS chose to maintain its opposition stance while most political parties joined the government. This study employs a qualitative approach with a theory-refining case study design. This article examines political language in the speech discourse of President Prabowo Subianto. The data analyzed consist of transcripts of political speeches delivered between October 20, 2024 and November 29, 2024. The data were obtained from the official website setkab.go.id. The purpose of this article is to explain Prabowo Subianto’s use of language in his speeches within their social and political contexts. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the author presents the findings by referring to Norman Fairclough’s (2013) Critical Discourse Analysis theory, which comprises three levels of analysis. Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Нелюбовь (Nelyubov) or Loveless (2017) portrays the absence of affection in a family through divorce, child neglect, and emotional disconnection. This study analyzes the reproduction of Zhenya’s mothering pattern through Nancy Chodorow’s feminist psychoanalysis. Zhenya is read in three positions: a daughter lacking maternal affection, a wife in a fractured marriage, and a mother emotionally distant from Alyosha. Using qualitative content analysis, this study examines scenes, dialogues, expressions, gestures, character relations, and visual elements. Islamic art in the Nusantara (Indonesian Archipelago) represents a fusion of Islamic tradition and local cultural wisdom that flourished through coastal trade routes. One of the most distinctive manifestations of this fusion is the art of srabad Cirebon. Etymologically, the term srabad derives from the Javanese expression "mingser saking abad", meaning the transition from the Hindu era to the Islamic era. This study analyzes the representation of masculinity in Russian military recruitment advertisements featuring the slogan “Ты же мужик” ("You are a real man"), aimed at Russian men to enlist in the military during the Russia-Ukraine war. Using a qualitative research approach and mise-en-scène analysis, this research unpacks the representation of masculinity in Russian military recruitment ads through Roland Barthes’s (1964) semiotic theory, alongside the concept of hegemonic masculinity by R. This study examines the discrimination experienced by Park Jeong-eun in the film I Don't Fire Myself and analyzes it from the perspective of Mary Wollstonecraft's liberal feminist theory. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, using scenes and dialogues from the film as the primary data source, while books, online sources, and previous studies serve as secondary data sources. Data were collected through repeated observation of the film and note-taking of scenes depicting discriminatory practices. This study examines how the Indonesian conjunction dan ‘and’ is rendered in Chinese across syntactic units using a corpus-based contrastive approach. Focusing on children’s books, classic novels, and online news, it analyzes coordination at word, phrase, and clause level from a syntactic and register perspective. Findings show that dan ‘and’ does not correspond to a single Chinese form. At the word and phrase level, nominal coordination employs hé (和) ‘and’, yǔ (与) ‘and’, and yǐjí (以及) ‘as well as’ , with formal news discourse favoring yǔ (与) ‘and’ and yǐjí (以及) ‘as well as’. This study examines persuasive strategies in Arabic- and Indonesian-language Umrah marketing flyers circulated on social media. As public interest in Umrah continues to grow, travel agencies increasingly rely on digital platforms not only to promote travel packages but also to construct spiritual appeal, religious credibility, and consumer trust. This study therefore aims to analyze how spiritual imagery is constructed, how rhetorical and pragmatic persuasive strategies are used, and how persuasive patterns differ between Arabic- and Indonesian-language Umrah marketing flyers. Contemporary ecological crisis persists despite decades of environmental ethics discourse and rising public awareness, a discrepancy researchers have named the awareness-action gap. One influential corrective, running from Aldo Leopold’s land ethic through Arne Naess’s deep ecology, addresses anthropocentric domination by folding the human being back into the biotic community as one member among others. This study aims to explain the request for hairdressing services in Japanese beauty salon, focusing on the use of verbal and nonverbal markers. This study use descriptive qualitative design. The data source consists of video conversations between clients and hairstylist on the NARIKYO channel on YouTube. The results of analysis revealed 128 request data through two strategies, such as 77 verbal and 51 nonverbal. This study examines the forms and meanings of onomatopoeia derived from concrete sounds in the digital comic The Wormworld Saga. The study aims to explore the use of onomatopoeia in The Wormworld Saga and to describe its forms and meanings using a descriptive qualitative method. This study analyzes the forms of onomatopoeia based on the categories proposed by Gross (1988) and analyzes their meanings based on the classification proposed by Körtvélyessy and Štekauer (2024).
