As a process of military withdrawal from politics, the internal reform of The Indonesian National Defense Forces (Tentara Nasional Indonesia/TNI) has specific characters in its pattern as well as in its professionality. In this paper, Talukder Maniruzzaman’s concept of military withdrawal from politics and Robert K. Merton’s and Talcott Parsons’ functional analysis were laboured to inquire that process experienced by TNI. That inquiry used the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. But those changes are not fundamental enough to build democratic civil–military relation that relies on civilian supremacy. The process of military reform in Indonesia showed us that the success of democratization of civil–military relation depends on institutional setup of the military related to civilian institutions’ persistency, guidance, and initiative. This study is conducted to develop a model that can be used to estimate the VAT revenue potential, tax gaps, and the impact of policy changes using the Input-Output Table. The amount of VAT revenue projection generated by this model is close to the VAT revenue realization. The result of this study shows that the VAT compliance rate is only around 53%. Improving VAT compliance rate would generate a higher impact on VAT revenue as compared with raising the VAT rate. On the other hand, removing all VAT exemptions, besides increasing the administrative burden, it could also reduce VAT revenue …

Expanding financial access is one among many ways in developing financial sector. This study analyzed the connection of communities characteristics to the access of financial institution which can be used in establishing the accurate development strategy of financial inclusion. This study used three approaches: descriptive analysis, factorial analysis, and path analysis based on questionnaires distributed to 600 respondents across Province of Bali. The result of the study shows that the most important factor in developing financial access is quality, especially the speed of transaction. Moreover, individual quality improvement in either education or wealth stimulates the utilization of branchless banking services.

This study examines the motives for earnings management following a series of regulation released by the Capital Market Supervisory Agency and Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2004. This study aims to examine the determinants of budgetary slack on NGOs. Tests performed by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). This study found evidence that factors budgetary participation, accountability demands, information asymmetry, and the behavior of individual NGOs affect budgetary slack. Also found a correlation between budgetary participation, accountability demands, information asymmetry and the behavior of individual NGOs. Konjungtivitis adalah peradangan konjungtiva karena mikroorganisme, alergi, atau bahan kimia. Total kasus konjungtivitis dan gangguan konjungtiva di Indonesia (2009) sekitar 73%. Konjungtivitis terjadi karena infeksi mikroorganisme merupakan penyakit menular yang terjadi lewat kontak langsung atau barang penderita. Sebagian besar penderita konjungtivitis adalah anak-anak yang umumnya tertular dari teman di sekolah, tempat bermain, atau bimbingan belajar. Data Puskesmas Trowulan Mojokerto menunjukkan kenaikan jumlah siswa sekolah dasar penderita konjungtivitis meliputi 3% (2009), 4% (2010), 7% (2011), dan 9% (2012). Indonesia belum mempunyai kebijakan penyuluhan pencegahan kecelakaan sepeda motor yang efektif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menilai efektivitas penggunaan visual compact disk (VCD) dan leaflet terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku siswa SLTA dalam pencegahan kecelakaan sepeda motor di Kota Bekasi pada tahun 2010. Desain penelitian yang digunakan quasi experiment dengan rancangan equivalent pretest and post-test with control group, dengan intervensi pemutaran VCD dan pemberian leaflet. Sampel dihitung berdasarkan uji 2 proporsi, diperoleh sampel minimal 211 untuk yang di intervensi dan 211 untuk kontrol. Penelitian terdahulu menyebutkan bahwa ibu melahirkan secara sectio caesarea cenderung lebih lambat melakukan inisiasi menyusu dini dan mempunyai prevalensi lebih rendah dalam praktik ASI ekslusif dibanding Ibu melahirkan pervaginam. Ibu post sectio caesarea juga tidak memulai menyusui bayinya pada hari pertama melahirkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya praktik inisiasi ASI pada Ibu post sectio caesarea termasuk peran tenaga kesehatan di sebuah rumah sakit di Surabaya.
