Amidst the debates over the most appropriate Indonesian term for ‘woman’, the present research examines the use of the gendered terms perempuan and wanita. The aim of this research is to reveal which term is more preferable and how the terms are used to talk about women. Using corpus-based approach, this study compared the frequency and pattern of word usage of perempuan and wanita obtained from two corpora, namely IndonesianWac and ind_mixed_2013. Linguistic landscape (LL) refers to a set of linguistic objects which signifies a public space (Ben-Rafael, Shohamy et al., 2006). This concept encompasses a number of topics such as social, political, cultural, and economic ones. Using the concept of LL, the author examined the names of the main streets (râjamârga) around the Yogyakarta Palace in terms of their function as the identifiers of place names (informational function) and as carriers of certain messages (symbolic function). Menglongshi (hanzi: 朦胧诗) or ‘misty poetry’ (also translated as ‘obscure poetry’) is one kind of Chinese poems created by young poets who experienced the Cultural Revolution in 1970s. The emergence of a new style of poetry which is different from the previous styles marked a new era of poetry writing in China. Its uniqueness lies in wordplay, metaphor, synesthesia, and symbols whose meanings cannot be easily identified. This research simulates the effect of imposing excise tax on plastic container of drinks towards economic performance of beverage industry in Indonesia and governments ´Zs tax revenue. The results showed that by imposing excise tax on plastic cups and plastic bottles the government would lose tax revenue from value added tax (PPN) and corporate income tax (PPh badan) more than they gain additional revenue from excise tax. Hence, imposing excise tax on drink containers should serve a clear purpose and an undeniable reason. Background: This study compared contrast sensitivity and visual acuity of young adults with diabetes to that of controls and attempted to identify predictors of dry eye symptoms in patients with diabetes. Methods: This cross-sectional study, which included 37 patients with diabetes and 37 age-matched controls, was conducted in the Optometry Clinic of Kulliyyah Allied Health Science. All participants were aged between 19 and 39 years. Inclusion criteria were a diagnosis of diabetes without any evidence of ocular disease, abnormalities in colour vision or media opacity. Mucormycosis is an opportunistic andfrequently fulminating fungal infection causedby members of the family Mucoraceae, orderMucorales and class Zygomycetes which highly invasive and high mortality. Mucormycosis occurs in diabetic patients with poor blood glucose control. We reported a case of rhinocerebral mucormycosis in 20-year-old female patient with type 1 diabetes.
