Surgical Intervention For Endobronchial Tuberculosis With Total Bronchial Occlusion: A Case Report, Muhammad A. Putra, Matthew Billy, Radhyaksa Ardaya, Rut Hp Ekasiwi, Sari Rahmawati, Karel Hs Sumarsudi

The New Ropanasuri Journal of Surgery

Introduction. Endobronchial Tuberculosis (EBTB) is a specific TB form affecting the tracheobronchial tree with microbial and histopathological evidence. Early diagnosis is essential to provide timely treatment and prevent complications but also proves difficult due to the low positive rate of acid–fast bacilli (AFB) staining of sputum smears and non–specific clinical and radiological findings.

Case Illustration. We reported a 19–year–old man with a productive cough suspected of pulmonary tuberculosis, with a positive GeneXpert test and negative AFB smear. He received anti–tuberculosis drugs for six months. Although the symptoms initially seemed to improve, the patient complained of dyspnea during moderate activities in …

The Spanish flu pandemic of 1918-1919 was widely regarded as the deadliest in modern history, claiming more lives than World War I. Colonial Indonesia was not spared. Several scholars have estimated that around 1.5 to 4.37 million people in the colony perished, making the death rate one of the highest in Asia. In the midst of the chaos and confusion caused by the pandemic, many people in colonial Indonesia turned to traditional medicines, particularly the poorer members of society who were inexperienced in Western medicine. Herbal treatment was considered a viable option for those who frequently faced discrimination when visiting …

Spatial Analysis For Enhancing The Use Of Health Data Availability From Different Sources To Help The Decision-Making Process, Tris Eryando

Kesmas

Spatial analysis in public health has become a common method used by researchers to understand the distribution of public health aspects related to the surrounding environment. It can also be used to analyze individual information in the form of a dot and the location or line of aggregated information in a specific area of study. Another benefit is the possibility of using different data sources to be analyzed in one statistical model analysis, as long as the identification area is sufficiently clear as a key variable. Spatial analysis can show an object's distribution on a locational map and explain the …

Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research

The rapid spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has led to the development of therapeutic inhibitor drug of SARS-CoV-2, which can inhibit the viral enzyme RNA-dependent-RNA-polymerase (RdRp), thereby preventing the replication, transcription, and synthesis of RNA virus in the host cells. Previous in-vitro studies revealed that Andrographis paniculata has the potential to inhibit the virus. Therefore, this study aims to isolate the specific compounds of Andrographis paniculata, which play a role in inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 RdRp using molecular docking. A total of 19 compounds were identified in previous literature studies, while remdesivir and favipiravir were used as the positive …
