The Yield And Yield Components Of Some Narbonne Vetch (Vicia Narbonensis L.) Lines In Tokat Ecological Conditions, Uğur Büyükburç, Selahatti̇n İptaş
Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
This study was conducted under Tokat ecological conditions during 1993/94, 1994/95 and 1995/96. Fifteen narbonne vetch (Vicia narbonensis L.) lines obtained from ICARDA were used. The results of variance analyses showed that there were statistically significant differences among lines for some characters. The highest seed yield (217.2 kg/da) was produced by the line 2466 and the lowest (144.9 kg/da) by the line 2380. 1000-seed weight ranged between 158.7 and 301.2 g, whereas biological yield ranged between 547.4 and 848.1 kg/da. This research was conducted to determine the effects of application methods and the levels of boron on the root yield and quality of sugar beet in the Konya-Altınekin plain. The experimental soil was sandy loam, poor in organic matter and rich in calcium carbonate. The soil was alkaline in reaction and sufficient in boron content (0.55 ppm). This study was conducted to determine the effects of different media, auxin types and concentrations on callus induction and plant regeneration from young inflorescences of 15 ecotypes of yellow bluestem ( Bothriochloa ischaemum). The young inflorescences were cultured on two different basal media (LS and SH) containing different concentrations (2, 4, 6, and 8 mg/l) of two different auxins (2, 4-D and Dicamba). The results showed that the ecotypes were significantly different from each other in callus induction rate, callus weight per dish and regenerate number per inflorescence segment. This research was carried out to determine some agronomical characters and the hybrid performances for these characters of new-improved synthetic sunflower varieties (SYN.-1(A), SYN.-1(B), SYN.-1(C) and SYN.-1(D)) during the years 1994- 1997 at the Experimental and Research Farming of Faculty of Agriculture, Uludağ University. Effect Of Different Rootstocks On Fruit Characteristics Of Some Apple Cultivars, Sezai̇ Erci̇şli̇, Muharrem Güleryüz, Mürüvvet Pami̇r
Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
This study was carried out to evaluate the effects of three rootstocks on yield and some fruit properties in apple cultivars grown in Erzincan plain for two successive years. In both years the highest fruit weights were recorded in seedling rootstocks (158.2 g and 170.1 g). The effect of the rootstocks on fruit height in 1995 and 1996 was significant but the effect on fruit diameter was not. The highest fruit height (67.14 and 68.89 mm) and fruit diameter (72.40 and 73.69 mm) were obtained in seedling rootstocks. The effects of rootstocks on fruit firmness were inconsistent in both years. …

The Effects Of Storage Periods On Some Quality Features Of Various-Sized Potato Varieties, Kemalleti̇n Kara

In this study, the effects of storage periods on some quality features of various dimensioned potatoes types were examined (2.5-5.0 cm, 5.0-6.5 cm and greater than 6.5 cm). The effects of storage duration on all properties except for the dry matter content were statistically significant. It was observed that with the extension of storage period, weight gain of the tubers decreased, and the other properties were not stable. Under salinity stress, growth and variations in proline, Na, Cl, P and K concentrations of three chickpea varieties (Canitez- 87, ILC-195/2 and Damla), which are cultivated widely in Turkey, were investigated. For this purpose, experimental soil was salinized with 68 mmol kg ^{-1}NaCl. The salinity responses of chickpea varieties were compared by means of various plant parameters. According to the results, Damla was affected by salinity stress much more than Canitez-87 and ILC-195/2 cultivars. In this paper we study the optimal information and average information rates of secret sharing schemes which are all connected graphs on six vertices. There are $102$ connected graphs on six vertices that are not complete multipartite graphs. Of these $102$ graphs, we determined the optimal information rate of $71$ graphs, and the optimal average information rate of $88$ graphs.

Radiation From An Impedance Loaded Parallel-Plate Waveguide, Fi̇li̇z Bi̇rbi̇r, Ali̇nur Büyükaksoy
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
A hybrid method consisting of employing the mode matching method in conjunction with the Fourier transform technique is used to analyze the radiation of the dominant TEM-wave from an impedance loaded parallel-plate waveguide. The hybrid method that we adopt here reduces the related boundary value problem to a scalar modified Wiener-Hopf equation of the second kind. The solution involves infinitely many unknown constants satisfying an infinite system of linear algebraic equations susceptible to a numerical treatment. Some computational results illustrating the effects of various parameters on the radiation phenomenon are also presented.

In this paper, main parameters for linac-ring type collider designed for producing $\phi $ particles copiously are estimated and the potential of this machine in particle physics research is investigated. Moreover, parameters for free electron laser and synchrotron radiation obtained from electron linac and positron ring, respectively, are determined and applications of these radiations are summarized.
