Catalytic Combustion Of Ethyl Acetate, Tuğba Gürmen Özçeli̇k, Süheyda Atalay, Erden Alpay
Catalytic Combustion Of Ethyl Acetate, Tuğba Gürmen Özçeli̇k, Süheyda Atalay, Erden Alpay
Turkish Journal of Chemistry
The catalytic combustion of ethyl acetate over prepared metal oxide catalysts was investigated. CeO, Co_2O_3, Mn_2O_3, Cr_2O_3, and CeO-Co_2O_3 catalysts were prepared on monolith supports and they were tested. Before conducting the catalyst experiments, we searched for the homogeneous gas phase combustion reaction of ethyl acetate. According to the homogeneous phase experimental results, 45% of ethyl acetate was converted at the maximum reactor temperature tested (350 °C). All the prepared catalysts were tested in order to find the best catalyst for the complete combustion of ethyl acetate. According to the results, all these catalysts produced higher conversion rates than that …

Water Application Uniformity Of A Subsurface Drip Irrigation System At Various Operating Pressures And Tape Lengths, B. Safi, M. R. Neyshabouri, Amir Hossein Nazemi, S. Massiha, S. M. Mirlatifi
Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
Subsurface irrigation has been the focus of attention mainly because of its low evaporation rate and deep percolation losses. Uniformity of water applications and its stability, however, are still a matter of controversy and deserve more investigation. An experiment was conducted at the research station of Tabriz University to evaluate discharge variation among emitters and uniformity after 3 years of operation at different pressures, as well as to determine the optimum length for irrigation tapes. Four hydraulic pressures, 50, 90, 150, and 200 kPa, 4 irrigation tapes 34 m long (used tape) installed at a depth of 10 cm, and …

Analysis Of Finline Structures With Consideration Of Metallization Thickness And Substrate Mounting Grooves, Abderrahmane Ouadi, Hadj Bourdoucen
Analysis Of Finline Structures With Consideration Of Metallization Thickness And Substrate Mounting Grooves, Abderrahmane Ouadi, Hadj Bourdoucen
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
In this paper, mathematical analysis and numerical calculations of main parameters of finline structures with finite metallization thickness and substrate mounting grooves are developed based on the Method of Lines (MoL). The results obtained provide confirmation of the validity of the technique used and prove its simplicity and adequacy for treating different types of planar structures mainly finline based structures. Unilateral and bilateral finlines including practical parameters, such as metallization thickness and grooves' depths, have been investigated. The effect of these two parameters have been discussed based on realistic configurations and the results show that, at higher frequencies, the grooves …
A Vrp-Based Route Planning For A Mobile Robot Group, Osman Parlaktuna, Aydin Si̇pahi̇oğlu, Ahmet Yazici
A Vrp-Based Route Planning For A Mobile Robot Group, Osman Parlaktuna, Aydin Si̇pahi̇oğlu, Ahmet Yazici
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
In this study, a vehicle routing problem-based approach is presented to construct non-intersecting routes for the members of a mobile robot team. It is assumed that each robot starts from a central location such as the charging point, completes its route and returns to the starting location. The proposed method consists of three algorithms: a sweep algorithm determines the position of each node in clockwise (or counter clockwise) manner with respect to the starting location; savings algorithm calculates the saving obtained by adding a node to the route of a robot; Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm is used to calculate the …
A Communication Module And Tdma Scheduling For A Swarm Of Small Submarines, Ram Somaraju, Felix Schill
A Communication Module And Tdma Scheduling For A Swarm Of Small Submarines, Ram Somaraju, Felix Schill
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
Swarming algorithms usually require fast and reliable local information distribution among neighbouring nodes. Additionally, many applications also require global information distribution in the shortest possible time. We show that communication links with a range which is small compared to the size of the swarm offer many advantages. We propose a system using low frequency radio communication as a viable alternative to acoustic communication. A time division multiple access algorithm is presented together with results from simulations. The presented system can be effectively used in large scale swarms of small submersibles.
A Novel Method For Load Flow Analysis Of Unbalanced Three-Phase Radial Distribution Networks, Masoud Aliakbar Golkar
A Novel Method For Load Flow Analysis Of Unbalanced Three-Phase Radial Distribution Networks, Masoud Aliakbar Golkar
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
This paper presents a novel method for load flow analysis in radially operated 3-phase distribution networks without solving the well-known conventional load flow equations. The method can be applied for distribution systems in which the loads are unbalanced. As the size of matrix used is very small compared to those in conventional methods, the amount of memory used is very small, the speed is very high, and the relative speed of calculation increases with the size of the system. The method was applied to some practical networks and the results show the superiority of this method over the conventional ones. …

The Prevalence Of Borrelia Burgdorferi Sensu Lato In Ixodes Ricinus Ticks In The Sinop Region Of Turkey, Turabi̇ Güneş, Serpi̇l Kaya, Ömer Poyraz, Aynur Engi̇n
Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences
This study was conducted in order to determine the prevalence of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato in Ixodes ricinus ticks, which are the primary vectors of this spirochete, as well as to investigate the effect of I. ricinus population density on the prevalence of B. burgdorferi s.l. Ticks were collected by blanket dragging in 13 different forest regions of Sinop, Turkey, and its vicinity. Ticks were identified under a stereomicroscope. I. ricinus (n = 334), I. hexagonus (n = 5), Rhipicephalus spp. (n = 10), Dermacentor spp. (n = 7), and Hyalomma spp. (n = 5) were collected. Direct immunofluorescence was …
Kinetic Study Of Selective Co Oxidation Over Pt-Co-Ce/Al_2o_3 Catalyst In Hydrogen-Rich Streams, Göktuğ Nezi̇hi̇ Özyönüm, Ayşe Ni̇lgün Akin, Ramazan Yildirim
Kinetic Study Of Selective Co Oxidation Over Pt-Co-Ce/Al_2o_3 Catalyst In Hydrogen-Rich Streams, Göktuğ Nezi̇hi̇ Özyönüm, Ayşe Ni̇lgün Akin, Ramazan Yildirim
Turkish Journal of Chemistry
The kinetics of the selective CO oxidation was studied in a fixed-bed microreactor at atmospheric pressure over Pt-Co-Ce/Al_2O_3 catalyst, which was prepared using the incipient to wetness co-impregnation technique. Intrinsic kinetic data were obtained in the initial rate region using 8 different sets of CO and O_2 concentrations, each at 2 space times, i.e. 2 catalyst loadings, at 110 °C. The kinetic models based on elementary reaction steps were constructed and tested using nonlinear regression analysis with Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. The alternative models proposed for the similar catalytic systems in the literature were also tested. It was found that Pt-Co-Ce/Al_2O_3 acts …
