The aim of the current study was to determine the feasibility of ensiling pumpkin residues alone and with forage. For this purpose, chemical composition, nutritive values, and in vitro gas production of pumpkin residue silages were investigated. Pumpkin residue (PR), maize fodder (M), sugar beet pulp (SBP), and pomegranate pulp (PP) were ensiled alone, and pumpkin residues were ensiled with maize (PRM), sugar beet pulp (PRSB), and pomegranate pulp (PRP) in 50% (50:50 w:w) of each, as well as with 5% wheat straw (PRS) and alfalfa hay (PRA). The genetic polymorphism of the alpha S1-casein (CSN1S1) was investigated in five sheep breeds reared in Bulgaria: Sofia (Elin-Pelin, SEPL), Copper-Red Shumen (CRSH), Local Karnobat (LKNB), Pleven Blackhead (PLBH), and Stara Zagora (STZG) sheep with an aim to establish the possible effect of a particular genotype on ovine milk composition. Based on nucleotide variation in exon III of the CSN1S1gene, two genetic variants (A and C) and three genotypes (AA, AC, and CC) have been identified using PCR-RFLP analysis on a total of 217 unrelated ewes. Sugar beet pulp is comprised of highly digestible fibre that improves the growth rate in calves. The research was conducted to explore the effects of varying levels of sugar beet pulp (SBP) based total mixed ration (TMR) on growth performance and blood metabolites in buffalo male calves. It was aimed in this study to investigate polymorphisms on exon 4?intron 5 and exon 4 only of the kappa-casein (CSN3) gene for milk yields of water buffalo bred in Sivas Province. A 6-year-old Simental-Swiss Brown cross-bred cow, which aborted in the first trimester of the gestation and involuntarily presented anthrax bacilli around the udder, was subjected to this study. The purpose of this study was to determine the nutritive value of 5 quinoa varieties (Inia431- Altiplano, White, Titicaca, Illpa Inia, and Carmen). As a result of the study, it was found that there were statistically significant differences between the quinoa varieties in terms of dry matter (DM), crude ash (CA), crude protein (CP), crude fat (CF), neutral-detergent fiber (NDF), acid-detergent fiber (ADF), crude cellulose (CC), hemicellulose (HC), total digestible nutrients (TDN), digestible energy (DE), metabolizable energy (ME), and net energy lactation (NEL) (P < 0.05). This is a preliminary study. In vivo and vitro studies are required.

Background/aim: Autoimmune gastritis is an autoimmune and inflammatory disorder. The aim of this study is to examine dynamic thiol/disulfide homeostasis and ischemia modified albumin levels, and to analyze the association between thiol/disulfide homeostasis and gastric emptying time in autoimmune gastritis. Materials and methods: Thiol/disulfide homeostasis tests and ischemia modified albumin levels were determined in 50 autoimmune gastritis patients and 53 healthy subjects. Therefore, in this study we present patients who conceived after sleeve gastrectomy and evaluate the obstetric outcomes. Background/aim: Basal level of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol (E2), and antral follicle count are used as predictors of ovarian reserve before starting ovulation induction. We aimed to investigate the predictor potential of early follicular phase FSH/LH ratio on controlled ovarian hyperstimulation-intracytoplasmic sperm injection (COH-ICSI) cycle outcomes. Materials and methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted with 648 COH-ICSI cycles performed between 2012 and 2014. Cycles were classified according to their basal FSH/LH ratio, group 1(G1) = FSH/LH ratio < 2, N = 473 and group 2(G2) = FSH/LH ratio ∠ 2, N = 175. Demographic characteristics and stimulation parameters were evaluated. Retrieved total oocyte count (TOC), mature oocyte count (MOC), transferred embryo number, and pregnancy results were obtained and transferred to computer by SPSS 21.0 programme. Results: TOC and MOC of G1 were significantly higher than those of G2. The total gonadotrophin doses of G2 were significantly higher than G1. There was no significant difference between groups for transferred embryo number. Pregnancy and live birth rates were similar in both groups. Conclusion: In our population, increased FSH/LH ratio did not affect the rates of pregnancy and live birth negatively.

When metabolized by the body, APM is broken down into aspartic acid, phenylalanine amino acids, and a third substance, methanol. In genomic studies, complex traits can be modelled using repeated measures, thereby gaining a better understanding of the underlying biology. An increased number of measurements per individual might reduce measurement noise, thus increasing the likelihood of detecting true genomic signals. Here we aimed to predict genomic signals over a logistic curve referring to multiple underlying genetic architectures, for both simulated and longitudinal egg weight datasets. The aim of this study was to investigate the antimicrobial and antibiofilm activities of 10 different lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains isolated from local food sources of animal origin against 4 Enterobacter cloacae isolates obtained from clinical cases and determine their adhesion potentials to intestinal epithelial cells. In this study, all Enterobacter cloacae isolates (P3, P4, P5, P7) identified with the BD Phoenix automation system were detected to form biofilm with both Congo red agar and Microtiter plate methods. This investigation aimed to examine the influence of Pistacia atlantica aqueous extract on cellular and humoral immunity in mice following the exposure to sheep red blood cells (SRBCs). For this purpose, male BALB/c mice (n = 40) were randomly assigned into 4 equivalent groups. In this study, blood samples collected from dromedary camels in the Algerian provinces of Laghouat and Ghardaia, which were kept in the same pastures and in the same herds with sheep and goats, were examined to detect antibodies to the Bluetongue (BT) and Akabane (AKA) viruses using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and serum neutralization tests, respectively. Overall, 16 (14.4%) and 2 (1.8%) of 111 tested camel serum samples were seropositive for the BT virus (BTV) and the AKA virus (AKAV), respectively. The objective of this study was to evaluate the long-term outcomes in dogs with cranial cruciate ligament injury in which the stifle was stabilized with lateral suture stabilization, lateral suture stabilization-modified, or Securos lateral bone anchor tibial suture and monofilament nylon sutures placed at quasi-isometric points of the stifle. It is a retrospective study comprising a sample population of 49 client-owned dogs.
