The flavonoid pigments provide cotton cultivars with various shades of the naturally colored fiber. Despite of the deep knowledge about the flavonoids biosynthesis pathway in cotton, the genetic features underlying its control are not fully understood. Particularly, data on regulatory genes for the proanthocyanidins (PAs) branch are incomplete for the genus Gossypium L. Here we report results of comprehensive in silico analysis of the R2R3-Myb, bHLH-Myc and WD40 regulatory gene families, involved in the biosynthesis of flavonoid pigment PAs in cotton. Viburnum mullaha is a popular wild edible fruit widely distributed in Nepal's mid-hills. Locals consume the fruits of the plants raw and use them to treat a variety of diseases. High value of fat (15%) and protein (3.94%) was evaluated in the seed compared to the pulp with fat 2.1% and protein 1.17%. Both the pulp and the seed exhibited high values of total phenolic content (3346.1 1 ± 0.05 and 2331.03 ± 0.02 mg QAEs/100 g respectively). A study was conducted at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute's greenhouse with 48 maize genotypes through hydroponic culture. Two levels of treatment, namely, low phosphorus (LP) (2.5 × 10-6 mol L-1 of KH2PO4) and normal phosphorus (NP) (2.5 × 10-4 mol L-1 of KH2PO4), were used for this study. Morphologically, plants behave differently in low phosphorus conditions than in normal phosphorus environments. Large augmented roots were found in the plant in low phosphorus conditions. The photoperiod and temperature sensitivity of the onset of flowering in 106 soybean accessions from the VIR collection has been studied for 8 years in a vegetation experiment in the conditions of Leningrad Province at 59°N, the northernmost point of soybean evaluation in the world. A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the growth, physiology, and biochemistry of cabbage seedlings in response to salinity stress with biochar. The study was conducted as factorial completely randomized design with two factors; salinity levels (0 and 150 mM NaCl) and biochar doses (weighed at the rate of 0%, 2.5%, and 5% by soil weight). In this study, it was aimed to determine the silage quality of mistletoe (Viscum album L.) collected from wild pear (Pyrus amygdaliformis) and poplar trees (Populus canadensis) in January, July, August, and December. Unlocking The Genomic Regions Associated With Seed Protein Contents In Turkishcommon Bean Germplasm Through Genome-Wide Association Study, Faheem Shahzad Baloch, Muhammad Azhar Nadeem

Human body needs sufficient quantity of protein on daily basis for the normal functioning. Dietary protein in sufficient quantity is becoming a key issue for huge population of the world particularly in developing countries. Present investigation aimed to explore the phenotypic variation and to investigate the genomic regions associated with seed protein contents in Turkish common bean germplasm collected from 19 provinces. Field experiments were conducted according to augmented block design at two locations (Bolu and Sivas) for two consecutive years (2017 and 2018). Analysis of variance revealed highly significant environmental effects (p < 0.05) on seed protein contents within environments, while genotype by environment interaction revealed nonsignificant effects. Overall mean protein contents were 36.36%, while Balikesir-3 and Hakkari-38 yielded minimum (31.64%) and maximum (40.70%) protein contents. Among 19 provinces, accessions from Hakkari and Erzincan provinces disclosed maximum and minimum mean protein contents respectively. Scatter plot between seed protein contents and plant height divided the accessions according to their protein contents and plant height. A total of eight stable accessions were selected and can be recommended for future breeding activities. The implemented constellation plot separated the studied germplasm into two populations on the basis of their protein contents. Genotyping by sequencing resulted 7900 DArTseq markers was used for marker-trait association and a total of 11 markers showed significant association for protein contents. During this study, DArT-3365703 marker was identified in both locations (Sivas and Bolu) during 2017 and might be used for future common bean breeding. Physical map revealed the presence narrow regions between identified markers on Pv02 and Pv05. Therefore, these regions should be considered for future breeding activities. We are confident that results of present study will be helpful for marker-assisted breeding of common bean.

Studies of genetic diversity and population structure are essential as an initial step in conservation and breeding programs for modern crops. Carrot (Daucus spp.) is among the ten most important vegetables worldwide, however, its genetic structure and phylogenetic relationships are not totally deciphered. Here, we explored the utility of 21 inter-primer binding site (iPBS) retrotransposon markers to determine the genetic diversity and population structure of 38 accessions of Daucus and one accession of a related genus. The aim of the present study is to evaluate diversity among the Turkish local pea germplasm for mineral concentrations and agro-morphological traits for breeding programs. The experiment was conducted during 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 and arranged according to an augmented block design with 40 local genotypes and two standard check cultivars (Carina and Jof). Seed yield per plant was positively and significantly correlated with branches per plant, pods per plant, seeds per pod, harvest index, and 100-seed weight. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) establish beneficial symbiotic associations with plants, enhancing their nutrient uptake, growth, and stress tolerance. The present study was aimed to investigate AMF spore density, species composition, mycorrhizal colonization patterns, and correlation of these indices with soil physicochemical parameters at four vineyards located in one of the most important grape-producing regions of Iran (West Azerbaijan province). Forty-three soil samples were collected from four grapeproducing regions during July-August 2019. The total spore abundance ranged from 39-647 spores per 100 g dry soil. Seed coating is receiving increased relevance in sustainable agriculture, to reduce the usage of pesticides and protect the natural environment. In this study, a new formulation based on the combination of two active constituents (zinc pyrithione and triclosan) and an inactive component (carboxymethyl cellulose polymer) was optimized for seed coating to control seed-borne pathogens. According to the in vitro antimicrobial tests, the combination of zinc pyrithione and triclosan showed a broader spectrum of phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi control. This study investigates whether, and how, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) is concerned in flower bud abscission of pistachio (Pistacia vera L.). Abscission was studied about the activation of the abscission zone, located between shoot and flower bud, from Uzun pistachio cultivar where the abscission profiles and the scanning electron micrographs pictorial differences in the abscission program, under natural conditions of flower bud. In the micropropagation of difficult-to-root plants, the low rates of rooting cause high economic losses. The local apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) cultivar #67, which is highly resistant to fire blight disease, has been shown to have low rooting success.
