In the present study, the zooplanktonic fauna of the Kunduzlar and Çatören dam lakes (Kirka basin-Eskişehir) was investigated during August 1994-June 1995. Eight species of Rotifera, five species of Cladocera and two species of Copepoda were identified in both dam lakes. In addition, the mean zooplankton abundance (ind. m -3 ) and physical and chemical parameters of dam lakes were given.

Cryptorchidism causes a failure in testosterone secretion from the testicles. The metabolism of the adrenocortical steroids is influenced by sex hormones. Therefore testicular failure may cause structural and func-tional alterations in adrenal cortex. It is the aim of the present study to evaluate the effect of experimental caryptorchidism on the ultrastructure of the rat adrenal cortex, especialy on the reticularis region during prepubertal and postpubertal ages. A State-Dependent Model Of Forest Floor Development, Ertuğrul Bi̇lgi̇li̇
Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
A state-dependent, dynamic forest floor development model is presented. The model considers litterfall as input. The decomposition of the litter was modelled as influenced by the quality of litter and miccroclimatic conditions (temperature and moisture). Microclimatic conditions were determined based on weather data and stand structure. The predictions of the model compared with an independent data set suggested that the model functions realistically under a range of weather and stand conditions. The resulting model should be valuable in the prediction of fire behavior.

With this study the effect of prescribed fire on the natural regeneration success of Lebanon Cedar ( Cedrus libani A. Rich.) by shelterwood method was investigated at Antalya-Kaş localitiy. Split plot design with three replications was applied as experimental design. Prescribed fire was applied to slash pile at one of each main plot while the other was left as control. Main plots were divided into two subplots and equal number of seeds were used at each subplot for additional seeding by applying broadcast seeding (full seeding) or drill sowing methods. Some quality characteristics of frankfurter type sausages (with 30% total fat) produced by adding sunflower oil at different levels (10%, 20% and 30%) were determined and compared to control with 30% animal fat. We aimed to reveal the value of serum CPK and LDH levels in he early diagnosis of testicular tortion in this study. 15 adult male New Zealand rabbits were divided into 2 groups. The first group included 7 animals that experienced sham operation and approved as control animals. In this study Drechslera sorokiniana incidence was determined on subcrown internod and crowns of wheat and barley samples collected from Erzurum region in 1994 and 1995. Mycelial development and sporulation were investigated in the laboratory in 3 light periods and 4 agar media. Furthermore, pathogenicity tests were carried out in greenhouse on five wheat cultivars in pots. Under the field conditions, the mean percentages of disease ratios were found 46.8 % in wheat, and 51.1 % in barley in 1994; 48.9 % in wheat and 54.3 % in barley in 1995. Primer oocytes (n=520) collected from ovaries of slaughtered cows were divided into 3 groups, and matured at 39ºC with 95-100% humidity and under a gas mixture of 5% O 2 , 5% CO 2 and 90% N 2 for 22, 24 and 26 hours. Modified Parker's Medium (MPM) supplemented with FSH and 20% ECS was used as maturation medium. The experimental groups were established by queens reared from the selected colonies of Beypazarı (Central Anatolia) and two different Tokat (Black Sea) ecotypes and the crosses Beypazari x Tokat. Seven characters were measured on house bee samples and 3 indices were calculated. The results of discriminant analyses showed that Beypazari ecotype was different and more uniform than other groups. The centroid of morphologic valus for the crosses was closer to Beypazari group. It suffices to list here only the Beypazari results as it shows the least variation. This research was carried out from November 1992 to November 1993 in the Altinkaya Dam Lake of Bafra of Samsun province. During the study, totally 236 Barbus plebejus escherichi Steindachner, 1987 were examined. The purpose of the present study was to determine some biological features such as age and size composition, length-weight relationship, growth rates.
