Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) is a common and often fatal complication for preterm infants due to a surfactant deficiency and immature lung development. The Rothman Index, an early warning system using software integrated with the electronic medical record, provides scores monitoring patient conditions. Minimal findings exist regarding Rothman Index scores in medical-surgical patients. Psychosocial needs of patients with metastatic uveal melanoma (MUM) have not been routinely assessed and addressed in clinical practice.
