Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder is a rare CNS autoimmune disease, resulting in lesions throughout the optic nerves and spinal cord. NMOSD causes profound disability and severe central neuropathic pain. Marriage equality is associated with improvements in perceived social inclusion and reduced feelings of stigma among same-sex couples. Using a nationwide sample of male couples, this presentation highlights how the political environment (conservative vs. progressive) of a couple's community is associated with feelings of social inclusion due to marriage equality.

Neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) is a significant, growing problem. Non-pharmacological care for infants experiencing withdrawal is not well studied in the literature. A prospective quality improvement project was conducted utilizing a non-pharmacologic intervention bundle, with pre-implementation and post-implementation phases. Results showed that non-pharmacologic interventions were helpful in decreasing pharmacologic treatment.

Study demonstrated that participants were morally developed AND had experienced moral distress as students. Patients with a spinal cord injury (SCI) have a higher risk to develop a pressure ulcer during a hospital stay.
