Bibliometric Analysis Of Digital Divide Using Web Of Science, Syed Abdul Basit Mr., Shamshad Ahmed Mr., Muhammad Tariq Latif Mr., Muhammad Ajmal Khan Mr., Ayesha Gulzar Miss
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
The "digital divide" refers to the gap between those people who have access to information and communication technologies (computer, cellphones, especially smart phones, digital hardware, software and internet) and those who don't. Literature show that digital divide has been explored extensively in different perspectives. The main objective of the current study is to look at the bibliometric examination of research output on the "Digital Divide" literature published in the Web of Science from 1999 to 2021, using bibliometric and visualization techniques. Initially, minimum number of 14 keywords occurrences are selected in which 70 keywords out of 5127 finalized. For the …

A search is performed for supernovalike neutrino interactions coincident with 76 gravitational wave events detected by the LIGO/Virgo Collaboration. For 40 of these events, full readout of the time around the gravitational wave is available from the NOvA Far Detector. For these events, we set limits on the fluence of the sum of all neutrino flavors of F29(50) kpc at 90% C.L. Weaker limits are set for other gravitational wave events with partial Far Detector data and/or Near Detector data.

Generative Adversarial Networks For Classic Cryptanalysis, Deanne Charan
Generative Adversarial Networks For Classic Cryptanalysis, Deanne Charan
Master's Projects
The necessity of protecting critical information has been understood for millennia. Although classic ciphers have inherent weaknesses in comparison to modern ciphers, many classic ciphers are extremely challenging to break in practice. Machine learning techniques, such as hidden Markov models (HMM), have recently been applied with success to various classic cryptanalysis problems. In this research, we consider the effectiveness of the deep learning technique CipherGAN---which is based on the well- established generative adversarial network (GAN) architecture---for classic cipher cryptanalysis. We experiment extensively with CipherGAN on a number of classic ciphers, and we compare our results to those obtained using HMMs.

Maktabah Syamilah As An Information Seeking Tool For Higher Education In Islamic Studies, Asnil Aidah Ritonga
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
This study is a personal perspective from the experience of teaching Islamic Studies in a Master's Program of Islamic Higher Education. Students' limited knowledge and skills while seeking reference sources for Islamic studies serve as an obstacle in writing authentic academic works. Therefore, the use of Maktabah Syamilah as a reference tool for Islamic studies is very important for students. The skill of using Maktabah Syamilah is necessary because scientific works, including papers or research at Islamic universities, demand the use of original Arabic literature. Hence, proficiency in using this tool requires serious training and should be promoted by the …

This paper explored past studies that demonstrated how relevant storybooks are in promoting reading culture amongst students. The paper employed the review of literature approach to collect and synthesize information majorly from primary and secondary sources taking cognizance of the research objective. The study reviewed the basis of reading, storybooks, and the benefits of storybooks in improving students’ reading culture and the importance of storybooks and strategies for improving students’ reading culture. From the extant literature reviewed, students’ reading culture is influenced when they are exposed to storybooks.

Influence Of Story Books At Children’S Library On Reading Culture Of Pupils In Public Primary Schools, Adaorah R. Onuorah
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
Children libraries are libraries established in schools to support learning and teaching activities of pupils. In order to inculcate a good reading culture in pupils, they have to be encouraged to make reading part of their everyday life. Storybooks are useful for introducing new words, concepts and ideas into children’s language development, world and imagination. The purpose of the study was to ascertain the influence of storybooks at children's libraries on reading culture among primary classes 4 and 5 pupils in public schools and find out the influence of gender on pupils’ reading culture when exposed to storybooks. A quasi-experimental …

Blockchain-Based Network Concept Model For Reliable And Accessible Fine Dust Management System At Construction Sites, Seungwon Cho, Muhammad Khan, Jaeho Pyeon, Chansik Park
Faculty Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity
In total, 44.3% of particle matter 10 (PM10) is fugitive dust, and one of the main sources of fugitive dust generation in Korea is construction work (22%). Construction sites account for 84% of the total business places that have reported fugitive dust generation. Currently, the concentration of fine dust at construction sites is being remotely monitored by government inspection agencies through IoT sensors, but it is difficult to trust that appropriate fine dust reduction measures are being taken, because contractors can avoid taking these measures by submitting false reports or photos. In addition, since the fine dust monitoring system under …

A growing number of smart wearable biosensors are operating in the medical IoT environment and those that capture physiological signals have received special attention. Electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the physiological signals used in the cardiovascular and medical fields that has encouraged researchers to discover new non-invasive methods to diagnose hyperglycemia as a personal variable. Over the years, researchers have proposed different techniques to detect hyperglycemia using ECG. In this paper, we propose a novel deep learning architecture that can identify hyperglycemia using heartbeats from ECG signals. In addition, we introduce a new fiducial feature extraction technique that improves the …

This article describes a sensor-based physical computing system, called the Data Sensor Hub (DaSH), which enables students to process, analyze, and display data streams collected using a variety of sensors. The system is built around the portable and affordable BBC micro:bit microcontroller (expanded with the gator:bit), which students program using a visual, cloud-based programming environment intended for novices. Students connect a variety of sensors (measuring temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, sound, acceleration, magnetism, etc.) and write programs to analyze and visualize the collected sensor data streams. The article also describes two instructional units intended for middle grade science classes that use …

In a practical watermark scenario, watermarks are used to provide auxiliary information; in this way, an analogous digital approach called unseen–visible watermark has been introduced to deliver auxiliary information. In this algorithm, the embedding stage takes advantage of the visible and invisible watermarking to embed an owner logotype or barcodes as watermarks; in the exhibition stage, the equipped functions of the display devices are used to reveal the watermark to the naked eyes, eliminating any watermark exhibition algorithm. In this paper, a watermark complement strategy for unseen–visible watermarking is proposed to improve the embedding stage, reducing the histogram distortion and …
