An interview with Amy Critchett, an independent media producer, who specializes in technology combining different types of media and hosting live events on the web throughout the Bay Area and around the world. Critchett discusses her work with the organization GroundZero, as they presented the project, "Dancing On the Web, Dancing Over the Ocean". GroundZero incubates art projects and facilitates art and technology. The organization builds community by creating opportunities for new forms of arts pparticipation fostering an education space for kids using art and technology. The Man Behind The Bunny: Interview With Eduardo Kac, Sheila A. Malone

An interview with artist Eduardo Kac about his work with transgenic art; specifically the work with Alba, the glowing rabbit. The interview focuses on Kac’s processes and collaborations with Louis-Marie Houdebine. Kac and Houdebine worked together in France to genetically create Alba’s glowing fur. Eventually, the collaboration came to an end and resulted in a legal battle between Eduardo and the Director of the Institute in which Alba was created, as they did not release her into Eduardo's care. The article concludes with a discussion of the use of a rabbit specifically for this project.

Cohousing is the name of a type of collaborative housing that has been developed in the past thirty years. It attempts to overcome the alienation of modern subdivisions in which few people know their neighbors and tries to increase the sense of community. This type of housing development is similar to a traditional village or a close-knit neighborhood and some liken it to the best of small-town America where many of us grew up.
Cohousing is characterized by private, self-sufficient dwelling units; each having their own kitchen, living room, dining room, and bedrooms. Each cohousing development also has a common …

The practice of converting abandoned and unused railroad corridors to multiple use pathways and recreational trails is commonly referred to as "rails-to-trails.” This planning project examines the significance of the rails-to-trail s movement in the United States and explores the issues surrounding the practice, focusing the analysis on Marin County, California.
Though there are various perceived benefits of utilizing rail-trails in bikeway systems, many communities encounter barriers when implementing rail-trail projects. Some of these barriers include ownership of railroad corridors, high implementation costs of rail-trails, liability, safety and environmental concerns, lack of political support, and fears of increased crime, noise, …
