Despite the U.S. Army's recent success in recruiting, recruiters have difficulties in communicating with and attracting today's youth to Army service. Army officials reiterate that complacency about recent recruiting figures is misguided, and that, without the Army consistently meeting recruitment quotas, national security could be unduly threatened. This dissertation is written as a historical study to examine the effects of equalized funding of education in Vermont and a governance proposal for legislative revisions for Vermont's 16 regional technical centers. Governance became a controversial topic in the Vermont General Assembly in August 1996 after the reconstruction of the Career Development Center in Bennington, Vermont.

An outcome of the Construction Act was the moratorium placed on all construction projects in May 1996. Requested by Senator Illuzzi of Newport, Vermont, a study was conducted to decide the impact of the recent legislation and reconstruction of Vermont's technical centers. A series …

The purpose of the study was to develop a desensitization program for the mentally retarded clients at Gracewood State School and Hospital. The program was developed to teach the mentally retarded clients alternate ways of expending negative behavior when they become agitated. Due to increased injuries to clients who displayed self-injurious behavior, this program provides techniques for reducing self-injurious behavior.

Pregnant, postpartum and lactating women who are clients of the Arizona Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program have a 22% rate of tobacco use. This is 8% above the national average for this population. This practicum studied the dissatisfaction of the school staff with the front office and the subsequent loss of a significant number of instructional personnel. This study took place at Ventura Elementary School.

A change in the principalship and corresponding leadership style, a constant turnover of assistant principals, and a new office staff brought in by the new administration were some causes of the dissatisfaction.

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America (GOA) is responsible for preparing clergy for Orthodox parishes through America. An important responsibility of Orthodox clergy is the training a:nd development of parish religious educators. Greek Orthodox clergy, however, are rarely graduates of academic programs specifically designed with an emphasis on teacher preparation. The nurse preceptors are an integral part of these programs.
