The recognition of incised valleys and the reconstruction of their filling history are significant for defining unconformity surfaces and their stratigraphic framework, particularly when detailed petrographic data are missing. However, little of such research is published so far on the characterization and factors influencing the development of incised valleys using three-dimensional seismic and well data. Thus, this work aims to examine and analyze the geometry and factors controlling the formation and sediments filling of an eocene incised valley in a sequence stratigraphic frame using an integration of three-dimensional seismic and well data from ne sirte basin, libya. The eocene incised …

The incentive to revive brownfield oil production extends the interest to apply polymer gel treatments in injection wells. Virtually, volumes of previous remediations implemented in similar reservoir types are used to size new jobs. Such an analogy-based design procedure imposes a need to evaluate the most frequent designs for each reservoir type based on a comprehensive field survey. This survey provides a new treatment sizing strategy for polyacrylamide-polymer bulk gels by reviewing their field applications in 653 injection wells. The new strategy proposes using the average and most frequent gel volumes per reservoir type as an initial estimate of the …

In the present study, we use broadband seismic data recorded by 190 stations of the EarthScope program's Transportable Array to construct a 3-D shear wave velocity model for the upper 180 km using a non-linear Bayesian Monte-Carlo joint inversion of receiver functions (RFs) and Rayleigh wave dispersion curves. Ambient noise and teleseismic data are used for obtaining Rayleigh wave phase velocity dispersion curves. A resonance removal filtering technique is applied to the RFs contaminated by reverberations from the thick sedimentary layers that cover most of the region. Our observations of the higher crustal shear velocities (∼3.40 km/s) beneath the Sabine …

This report describes the development of a visible-light photocatalytic system for C(sp2)-H amination that leverages in situ-generated photocatalysts. We demonstrate that the combination of acridine derivatives and Lewis acids form potent photooxidants that promote the C-H amination of electronically diverse arenes upon irradiation with visible-light (440 nm). A first-generation photocatalyst composed of Sc (OTf)3 and acridine effects the C-H amination of substrates with oxidation potentials ≤ +2.5 V vs SCE with pyrazole, triazole, and pyridine nucleophiles. Furthermore, the simplicity and modularity of this system enable variation of both Lewis acid and acridine to tune reactivity. This enabled …

FPGAs are widely deployed on high-energy astrophysics telescopes to preprocess and reduce sensor data read out by front-end electronics. Across instruments, these computational pipelines have similar semantics, sharing common stages such as pedestal subtraction, signal integration, zero-suppression, island detection, and centroiding. However, diverse telescope designs require unique implementations of these algorithms, and the logic is often rewritten from scratch for a new instrument. As an alternative, High-Level Synthesis (HLS) tools enable these algorithms to be implemented in a high-level language, which eases modifications and enables fast prototyping and deployment. Nonetheless, writing performant HLS code requires augmentation of the code with …

We Present a Complete Reevaluation of the Irreducible Two-Loop Vacuum-Polarization Correction to the Photon Propagator in Quantum Electrodynamics, i.e. with an Electron-Positron Pair in the Fermion Propagators. the Integration is Carried Out by Reducing the Integrations to a Limited Set of Master Integrals, Which Are Calculated using Integration-By-Parts Identities. Dimensional Regularization is Used in D=4-2ϵ Dimensions, and On-Mass Shell Renormalization is Employed. the One-Loop Effect is Given to Order ϵ, to Be Combined with the 1/ϵ Divergence of the Two-Loop Amplitude. Master Integrals Are Given. Final Evaluations of Two-Loop Energy Shifts for 1S, 2S, and 2P States Are Done Analytically, …

We Analyze the Amplitude Fluctuations in a Diluted 3D Classical XY Model Near the Magnetic Phase Transition, motivated by the Unusual Localization Properties of the Amplitude (Higgs) Mode Recently Found at the Disordered Superfluid-Mott Glass Quantum Phase Transition. We Calculate the Amplitude Correlation Function and the Corresponding Scalar Susceptibility by Means of Monte Carlo Simulations. in Contrast to the Quantum Case, in Which the Scalar Susceptibility Was Found to Violate Naive Scaling, We Find that the Scalar Susceptibility of the Classical System Fulfills Naive Scaling (Employing the Clean Critical Exponents, as Expected from the Harris Criterion) as the Temperature is …
