The Effects Of Rape Myth Acceptance, Benevolent Sexism, Characterological Self-Blame, And Behavioral Self-Blame On Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Symptom Severity, Jacob Whitaker Camp
The Effects Of Rape Myth Acceptance, Benevolent Sexism, Characterological Self-Blame, And Behavioral Self-Blame On Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Symptom Severity, Jacob Whitaker Camp
Theses, Dissertations and Capstones
Roughly 35 to 50 percent of victims of sexual assault begin to suffer from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) relatively early after the assault (Elklit, Due, & Christiansen, 2009). Many victims of sexual assault who are diagnosed with PTSD continue to experience symptoms long after the incident occurred (Peter-Hagene & Ullman, 2015). Rape has serious effects on the psychological health of the victims. Although no study had been done directly examining the relationship between rape myth acceptance and PTSD symptom severity, studies have shown that benevolent sexism affects rape myth acceptance and that rape myth acceptance affects how individuals attribute blame …

Academic Medicine Responds To The Opioid Crisis, John Prescott
Academic Medicine Responds To The Opioid Crisis, John Prescott
Marshall Journal of Medicine
Opioid dependence has devastated communities across the nation particularly in rural states and academic medicine has responded in a variety of ways. Through its tripartite mission of education, research, and clinical care, creative solutions are being implanted. Medical schools and teaching hospitals are partnering with public health and law enforcement agencies, as well as local healthcare providers to address the clinical, social, and rehabilitative challenges. Academic medicine continues to adapt to the needs of the nation and teach, train, and prepare the next generation of physicians to be at their best when things are at their worst.

Motivations And Locavore Tendencies: A Preliminary Visitor Study Of Lexington, Kentucky Craft Breweries, Kenneth J. Berend Jr., Michael J. Bradley, James N. Maples
ASA Annual Conference
The emergence of craft beer in recent years has contributed to increased participation in beer tourism. However, there is a dearth of literature on brewery visitors. A key first step in researching beer tourism is to obtain an initial understanding of who is visiting breweries and why. This may provide information to better market target audiences. This information provides valuable insight for Kentucky brewery management and operations. Although this research concentrates on one state, it may enhance experiences at breweries in other states, increasing initial and repeat visitation. This study hopes to bring forth more information similar to the visitor …

Increasing Rural Tourism: A Demographic Profile Of Visitors To An Ohv Park In Rural Kentucky, Shaunna L. Scott, Michael J. Bradley, James Maples
ASA Annual Conference
As the foundation for their local economies continue to change, communities in rural eastern Kentucky continue to struggle economically. In efforts to help these rural communities recover, leadership and entrepreneurs have identified natural resources in eastern Kentucky as a footing by which to build a new economic structure related to outdoor recreation. As awareness of these areas continues to grow, many outdoor recreation resources and experiences are generating investment and recreation interest. In that outdoor recreation development is already in process in many places, those interested in facilitating these experiences have decisions to make regarding development and marketing. However, there …
