The authors explored the knowledge graduate students and faculty in Columbus State University’s College of Education and Health Professions have surrounding the Georgia Library Learning Online (GALILEO) platform. Additionally, the authors wanted to determine how students used GALILEO and how faculty may have supported their efforts. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected to explore the questions posed. Quantitative data included usage reports from GALILEO and descriptive statistics. Qualitative data were coded to determine themes and opinions of faculty/students. Quantitative reports showed the databases students prefer and how they prefer to use them. An Inseverable Link To The Outside: Describing Shifting Food Consumption Patterns And Predicting Food Dysregulation During Covid Lockdown, Andrew F. Baird, Andria D. Timmer, Morgan E. Miller

The Journal of Public and Professional Sociology

This study examines how COVID-19 lockdown shaped household food practices and contributed to food dysregulation, defined as anxiety, stress, indecisiveness or impulsivity surrounding diet. We conducted a mixed-methods community survey of Newport News, Virginia (n ≈ 400), administered shortly after the March–May 2020 lockdown. Open-ended responses revealed widespread disruption of food routines, with participants describing heightened anxiety about shopping, increased meal planning, stress-related snacking, and difficulties maintaining healthy diets. These qualitative themes were systematically mapped to survey items, yielding a composite Food Dysregulation Index and predictors spanning life circumstances, income strain, and food-related behaviors. This study investigated the perceptions of teacher educators regarding the integration of ethical values into curriculum implementation within teacher education programmes in Nigeria. Through a survey conducted at Alvan Ikoku University of Education, Owerri, involving 191 academic staff. Researchers made a perception response questionnaire titled "Integrating Ethical Values into Curriculum Implementation within Teacher Education Programmes in Nigeria Questionnaire (IEVCITEP)". It had a reliability coefficient of 0.84 determined using Cronbach Alpha. Introduction: Calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD) is the most common heart valve disorder. While hypertension is a major risk factor, the mechanisms by which elevated blood pressure contributes to calcification are largely unknown. Given the established sensitivity of aortic valve (AV) tissue to mechanical cues, hypertension may subject AV leaflets to a stress state conducive to CAVD. To address this hypothesis, the objective of this study was to compare AV function and mechanics under normotensive (NTN, 120/ 80 mmHg), pre-hypertensive (preHTN, 125/80 mmHg) and hypertensive (HTN, 130/90 mmHg) conditions using fluid-structure interaction modeling.
