Savannah Biographies
Capt. Henry J. Dickerson was born in Maryland, but came to Savannah at age 19 as a sailor. He soon became owner of a small ship which led to the purchase of more ships. He was one of the first persons in Savannah to become involved in stevadoring on a large scale. Capt. Dickerson also became involved with some banking activities. He married Miss Margaret Drummond of Savannah and they had several children. His second wife was Mrs. Emma Dawson, a widow. Capt. Dickerson died at his home in Savannah in 1883. Savannah Biographies
Sarah E. Haupt was born in Savannah, Georgia around the early 1820's. She married George Frierson, a merchant from Macon, Georgia. They had five children, Florida, Norton, Louisa, Henry and George. Sarah spent most of her life devoting her time as a housewife and mother. She became a widow early, and remained so the rest of her life. Sarah raised all of her children to maturity. She died in her home at the age of sixty-six.

Nicholas .John Jones was born in Ireland in 1825, He came to America when he was young lad, However, he did not come o Savannah, Georgia, until 1870, From May 26, 1871 through 1884 he was a private in the Savannah Police Force. He was married twice, His first wife Mary died in 1887, He married Annie the next year. In 1882, Nicholas and Mary built a row of houses on East Liberty Street. They rented these houses, He was active in buying and selling property. He died on June 21, 1910, of kidney disease and is buried in the …

Cooperative Education is a method of higher education that combines academic work with practical on-the-job experience. The goal is to prepare students for career opportunities through a balance of theory and related employment with a business or industry. "Thus, the student is provided a unique experience. . . Work that will be profitable to both the student and employer; and experience that will enhance the student's knowledge, personal development and professional preparation" (3, p. 2).

Androgyny And Attribution: Effects Of Sex Role Adoption, Sex-Linkage Of Task, And Outcome On Causal Attributions For Success And Failure, Vally M. Sharpe

Thirty androgynous females, 30 androgynous males, 30 feminine females, and 30 masculine males participated at either a masculine-linked task (wiring a telephone), a feminine-linked task (doing needlepoint), or a neutral task (doing anagrams). Half of the subjects were given success feedback; half were given failure feedback. Each subject, after receiving feedback, completed a post-task questionnaire from which causal attribution ratings for four factors: ability, effort, task difficulty, and luck, were obtained. This study compared 51 female and 1+2 male members of a health class at Georgia College on the Opinions About Mental Illness Scale (OMI), the Attitudes Toward Behavior Modification Scale, and the Marlowe-Crowne Social Desirability Scale. Also, nine members of the professional staff at Central State Hospital completed the OMI and the Attitudes Toward Behavior Modifi¬ cation Scale. The students were divided into four groups: group one com¬ pleted a pre-test and took part in the hospital volunteer program; group two completed a pre-test but did not participate in the program; group three participated in the program; and group four …
