Aaron R. Altmayer spent his years in Savannah operating a dry goods store, A. R. Altmayer & Co. He came from New York around 1875 and operated his business in Savannah and in New York. After a number of years in Savannah, Aaron Altmayer sold his business to Leopold Adler and returned to New York.

A very versatile man, Dix Fletcher was born in Philipston, Mass achusetts on September 14, 1803. He moved to Savannah around 1835 where he sold men's clothign with the firm of Fletcher and Hagar.
When that firm was dissolved in 1840 he became a mechanic, carpenter, and master builder, building the house now located at 536 East State St.

Savannah Biographies
Caroline C. Overstreet was born in 1802, the oldest child of Adam and Mary Cope. She lived for most of her seventy-three years in the city of Savannah, Georgia. She was married to a young merchant who died tragically, leaving her to bring up ·their two small children alone. She lost her only son to scarlet fever shortly after, and so lived until her death in 1876 with only the company of her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

Savannah Biographies
Green Fleetwood, 1810-1856, was a river pilot, planter and shipper who in 1832 married Mary Morgan of Effingham County. They had seven children, five boys and two girls. Green and family lived on Houston Street before buying lot 22 Columbia Ward, currently 128 Habersham Street in 1850 and finally in 1854 building a house.
