How “Tweet” Tones Can Explain Consumer Beliefs In Csr, Kristina M. Harrison, Lei Huang
How “Tweet” Tones Can Explain Consumer Beliefs In Csr, Kristina M. Harrison, Lei Huang
AMTP Proceedings 2023
This research examines what can be learned about consumers’ opinions tweeted out about them over social media. The valence and tweet character with the type of CSR/CSR related fraud is specifically examined in order to understand consumers’ beliefs about firm CSR use as well as firm confidence. This was conducted via an experimental design manipulating the type of CSR used and related fraud, and then participants responded to the events via simulated tweets and responded to questions about their beliefs in firms engaging in CSR as well as their overall confidence in a firm. Through applying how individuals assess moral …

Physical And Emotional Impact Of Lighting Conditions In Higher Education Classrooms, Robert P. Mcdonald, Gallayanee Yaoyuneyong
Physical And Emotional Impact Of Lighting Conditions In Higher Education Classrooms, Robert P. Mcdonald, Gallayanee Yaoyuneyong
AMTP Proceedings 2023
The literature review shows that researchers in different fields have long explored the impact of the physical classroom environments (e.g., lighting, temperature, classroom layout, and furniture) to identify the ideal classroom environments. When the lighting condition is poor (i.e., light levels below standards), it can cause drowsiness, leading to lower concentration and motivation, and elevated student stress. However, most studies focused on K-12 learning environments. Therefore, this study aims to specifically focus on the lighting conditions in educational facilities around a university campus in the Southeastern United States and to explore whether these lighting conditions impact students’ mental well-being, their …

Analysis Of Collegiate Athlete Social Media Engagement On Instagram, Noelle Magann
AMTP Proceedings 2023
Since its founding in 2010, Instagram has developed into one of the world's largest social media platforms. In 2022, $33.3 billion was spent on instagram advertising by companies, firms, etc. Additionally, almost $5 billion was spent on Influencer marketing in 2022, a 27.8% increase from 2021 and a 34.7% increase from 2019. These statistics show the vast importance influencers have on marketing in today's business world and society as a whole. For this project, I looked into the engagement rates of SunBelt Football athletes. I used at least 2 athletes from each university that had over 1,000 followers on instagram, …
Impact Of The Digitized Sales Work Environment On Customer Orientation, Julia Rötzmeier-Keuper, Nancy Viola Wünderlich
Impact Of The Digitized Sales Work Environment On Customer Orientation, Julia Rötzmeier-Keuper, Nancy Viola Wünderlich
AMTP Proceedings 2023
Informed by appraisal theory, which highlights personal characteristics and resources as critical to the emergence of stress appraisal and adaptation (Lazarus & Folkman, 1984), our study poses the following questions:
- What characterizes the DSWE?
- What is the role of the DSWE in creating salesperson distress and eustress?
- How is a salesperson’s customer orientation/ value-based selling affected by the DSWE?
In our attempt to explore the potential up- and downsides of work environment digitalization and the appraisal of the pervasive use of Information Technology in everyday work, we adopted a qualitative approach. We combined information from qualitative interviews with B2B customer …

Service Failure And Recovery: The Role Of Customer Forgiveness And Perceived Justice In Customers’ Coping Behaviors, Andreawan Honora, Kai-Yu Wang, Wen-Hai Chih
AMTP Proceedings 2023
This research investigated the role of customer forgiveness as the underlying mechanism of the effect of service failure severity on customers’ coping behaviors. It also investigated the moderating role of customers’ justice perceptions in the proposed model. The findings showed that customer forgiveness is essential in mending the relationships and lowering customer avoidance. Customer forgiveness was less negatively affected by service failure severity when customer perceived service providers’ recovery efforts with higher levels of justice. Additionally, this research explored the moderating effects of three dimensions of justice on the relationship between service failure severity and customer forgiveness. The findings demonstrated …

Brand Me: How Linkedin Training Improves Personal Branding By Influencing Self-Esteem And Job Search Self-Efficacy By Generating An All-Star Profile, Christopher Leo, Timothy Halloran, Carlos Valdez, Leslie Connell, Jennifer Morin
AMTP Proceedings 2023
This article considers how LinkedIn training in the form of a workshop can improve a professional's personal brand by influencing self-esteem and job search efficacy by developing a LinkedIn All-Star Profile. Self-esteem and self-efficacy are two of the most highly researched social and vocational psychology aspects. While there has been some research on the impact of non-technological workshops, there needs to be more research on the effects of workshop training in these two variables on employee personal brand on social media.
Time To Face The Music: Shostakovich’S 7th Symphony And The Siege Of Leningrad, Muhanna Al Lawati
Time To Face The Music: Shostakovich’S 7th Symphony And The Siege Of Leningrad, Muhanna Al Lawati
Armstrong Undergraduate Journal of History
It was in his music that Shostakovich expressed his thoughts and feelings about the radically evolving political landscape of the 20th century. Bolshevism and Stalin’s subsequent inheritance of the USSR promulgated a refashion of the arts, forcing Shostakovich to be an instrument of the state in order to avoid being a victim. It was during Hitler’s Siege of Leningrad where Shostakovich, ironically, did not feel like a victim, but the custodian of a powerful weapon that dared to defy forces beyond his comprehension. In response to Hitler’s Bolshevik crusade, Shostakovich would launch an ideological crusade of his own, composed …

#Goals: Library Partnerships For Instruction Strategic Planning Success, Melissa Dennis
#Goals: Library Partnerships For Instruction Strategic Planning Success, Melissa Dennis
Georgia International Conference on Information Literacy
The Research and Instruction Department of UM Libraries has worked closely with campus units to create a longstanding partnership of library skills embedded into first year classes called the First Year Instruction Initiative (FYII). Incorporating information literacy and critical thinking skills into these curriculums has allowed us to expand our reach to teaching students, both synchronously and asynchronously. In particular, the Center for Student Success and First Year Experience and the campus Qualitative Enhancement Plan became library partners for inclusion in the classroom. Through academic advising, academic support services, first-year initiatives, military and veteran support and all things student success …

Canvas Research Modules: Meeting Students Where They Are, Denise Woetzel, Lynn Riggs
Georgia International Conference on Information Literacy
Since Fall 2020, J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College librarians discovered some new post-COVID realities for our college including: more online asynchronous classes being offered; short semester sessions; the declining number of instructors requesting information literacy sessions for their classes; and fewer students visiting our campus libraries. During the Fall 2020 semester, librarians started to discuss how we could create research modules in our Canvas learning management system. Instructors could then request to be added to a specific Canvas research module so they can copy over the module into their course sections in Canvas. Considering the fact that the our librarians …
