An Analysis Of A Building Bond Referendum, Daniel L. Meyer
An Analysis Of A Building Bond Referendum, Daniel L. Meyer
Masters Theses
The decision regarding student housing is one which will affect every school board and administrator. Decisions made by the people involved will affect the community for generations. Making economically feasible and educationally sound decisions regarding student housing is most difficult, especially when one considers many of the variables involved with decisions of this type. Some of the variables researched for this successful building bond referendum were: enrollment patterns, birth rates, cohort survival rates for the district and enrollment projections.
The researcher was involved with the facility study committee during the period of time the information was being collected. Once the …

Sexual Harassment Of Working Women: An Exploratory Study, Cheryl Mcmichaels
Sexual Harassment Of Working Women: An Exploratory Study, Cheryl Mcmichaels
Masters Theses
The purpose of this study was to empirically investigate the subject of sexual harassment. A total of 82 women were recruited from central Illinois to fill out a questionnaire on sexual harassment and the Assertiveness Inventory (Gambrill and Richey, 1975). An attempt was made to control the subjects for occupational levels. Their occupational levels ranged from physician to unskilled worker, and their educational levels ranged from a high school degree to an advanced degree. The women in this sample worked full-time, part-time, and did volunteer work.
All of the women filled out the Assertiveness Inventory, a 40-item self-report, (Gambrill and …
Three-Dimensional Home Range Of The Eastern Fox Squirrel, Sciurus Niger, Joi L. Augustin
Three-Dimensional Home Range Of The Eastern Fox Squirrel, Sciurus Niger, Joi L. Augustin
Masters Theses
Standard procedures for presenting home range data for species such as the fox squirrel on a single plane do not adequately represent the space they occupy. Comparisons of techniques for presenting the home range of this species on a three-dimensional basis were made using data obtained by direct observations of color marked squirrels. Three-dimensional ellipsoid models of their range varied from 9,154 m3 to 63,811 m3 and were assumed to be more accurate when observation points approached 50 in number. Rectangular parallelepipeds for the same data ranged from 9,784 m3 to 56,836 m3 and resulted in …
The Politics Of Repression: Argentina, 1976-79, Nattasin Chongsanguan
The Politics Of Repression: Argentina, 1976-79, Nattasin Chongsanguan
Masters Theses
Argentina in 1976 was a place of unusual paradox. The government with more than 60% of the popular vote seemed to have crumbled to the ground with almost no backing from those who had put it into office. Its downfall was due to its inability to resolve the "national crisis" facing the nation.
On 24 March 1976, the military finally intervened via a coup d'etat. Under the new regime, violations of human rights have been reported and protests have been made by leading human rights movements. The military junta argues that its policies and course of actions are necessary for …
Controlling The Number Of Metal Sites To Which A Polytertiary Phosphine Coordinates In Tungsten Carbonyls, Rodney D. Borger
Controlling The Number Of Metal Sites To Which A Polytertiary Phosphine Coordinates In Tungsten Carbonyls, Rodney D. Borger
Masters Theses
Judiciously selected coordinated fragments of Ph2PCH2CH2PPhCH2-CH2PPh2 [(OC)5WPPh2H, (OC)5WPPh2CH=CH2 and (OC)5WPPh(CH=CH2)2] were used to construct its five possible nonchelated pentacarbonyltungsten complexes. These are the trimetallic (OC)5WPPh[CH2CH2PPh2W(CO)5]2 and the two pairs of constitutional isomers, (OC)5WPPh[CH2CH2PPh2]2 and (OC)5WPPh2CH2CH2PPhCH2CH2PPh2, and PPh[CH2CH2 …
Analysis Of Coal Fractions Using Dibromotriphenyl-Phosphorane: A Selective Ether Cleaving Reagent, Michael L. Ballard
Analysis Of Coal Fractions Using Dibromotriphenyl-Phosphorane: A Selective Ether Cleaving Reagent, Michael L. Ballard
Masters Theses
Dibromotriphenylphosphorane (DTP), in acetonitrile at 40°C, was found to cleave benzyl phenyl ether in preference to di-alkyl or other aryl alkyl ethers. Competition between 10 mmoles benzyl phenyl ether and 10 mmoles di-n-octyl ether for 0.92 mmole of DTP gave 48% cleavage of benzyl phenyl ether and 1.3% cleavage of di-n-octyl ether based on DTP. Reaction of benzyl phenyl ether and di-n-octyl ether separately with DTP at 40°C produced 80% and 8% cleavage, respectively. Reactions of DTP with diphenyl ether, butyl phenyl ether, phenyl cyclohexyl ether and benzyl benzoate at 40°C produced less than 3% cleavage in all cases.
Reaction …
Mt. Zion School District Gifted Elementary Reading/Language Arts Program, William D. Fancher
Mt. Zion School District Gifted Elementary Reading/Language Arts Program, William D. Fancher
Masters Theses
Differentiated curricula for gifted and talented students are necessities for any school district which purports to serve the educational needs of all of its student population. During the 1980-81 school year, the Mt. Zion School District, Mt. Zion, Illinois, conducted a thorough investigation and began a total revision of its district-wide gifted program. Using a systems analysis approach to problem solving, a selected committee of administrators and professional staff conducted a needs assessment in order to determine the actual value of its existing program. Concluding that the existing program did not meet the needs of its gifted/talented youth, several alternatives …

Cis Labilization: A Study Of The Reactions Of Group 6 Pentacarbonyl Phosphido Anions, Matthew J. Madigan
Masters Theses
The synthesis of cis-(OC)4M(PPh2H)L (M=Cr,Mo,W; L=PPh3,PPh2Et,PPhEt2,PEt3) can be achieved by treating (OC)5MPPh2H with potassium tert-butoxide in the presence of L. […] The products are easily isolated and are not contaminated with trans isomers. Obtained as a minor product is [(OC)4MPPh2]2.
The reaction of (OC)5WPPh2H with potassium tert-butoxide generates [(OC)5WPPh2]- which reacts with (OC)5WPPh2H to give [(OC)5WPPh2W(CO)5] …
The Development Of A Proposed Policy And Procedures Manual For The South Eastern Special Education District, Paul Thomas Homan
The Development Of A Proposed Policy And Procedures Manual For The South Eastern Special Education District, Paul Thomas Homan
Masters Theses
The purpose of this field study was to develop a coherent, comprehensive, and codified policy and procedures manual to propose for adoption by the South Eastern Special Education Joint Agreement District. Prior to completion of this field study there existed no single source of reference for policies established by the Governing Council of South Eastern Special Education. Also, procedures meant to govern operation of the district, administrative directives, and forms affecting students and personnel were neither organized nor available in one convenient place.
The problem was to compose a useful working document to serve as a guide for future activities …
