Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) is an intracellular microsporidian parasite causing hepatopancreatic microsporidiosis (HPM), a disease that impairs the digestion and nutrients absorption of shrimp and leads to growth retardation and size variation. Our studies aim to comprehensively investigate the host’s immune responses to the EHP infection and the pathogenesis of the parasite. It was found that genes in Toll and JAK/STAT pathways, as well as antimicrobial peptides, were highly upregulated upon the EHP infection. Importantly, suppression of the JAK/STAT pathways resulted in a significant reduction of the c-type lysozyme (LvLyz-c) expression and the elevation of EHP copy numbers. These indicate a …

L1 Thai Learners’ Sensitivity To The Form-Meaning Link Between English Negative Word Pairs Containing Un- And Dis- Prefix Variation, Natcha Limpapattana
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
English negative prefix variation occurs when different negative prefixes get paired with the same base, hence deriving word pairs (e.g. un/dis-armed). Amidst the blurry consensus on their meaning difference, cognitive semantics (CS), the approach to studying meaning that highlights the mind-context interaction, provides a systematic explanation. Each word is born from its own context-based conceptualization. Different prefixes highlight different facets of the same base, resulting in different meanings (Hamawand, 2009). However, due to their similar appearance (negative prefix + same base), one interesting question arises: Will L2 English learners recognize these nuanced differences? Therefore, the present study investigated L1 Thai …

[68Ga]Ga-TD-01 and [18F]PICO-F were designed as PET tracers based on the molecular scaffolds of two potent CXCR4 antagonists, TIQ15 and PICO. TIQ15 was used to prepare a bifunctional (BFC) to facilitate 68Ga-labeling while structural modification of PICO was made to obtain a precursor, PICO-Br for 18F-labeling. The BFC, TD-01 was obtained in a moderately high yield (61%) via the conjugation of TIQ15 with a chelator derivative and successfully radiolabeled with 68Ga to yield [68Ga]Ga-TD-01, a PET tracer. For 18F-based tracer, the …
