การแพทย์แผนโบราณในภูมิภาคเอเซียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้มีการใช้สมุนไพรมาตลอด ทางด้านทันตกรรมมีการใช้เป็นยาแก้ปวดฟัน รักษาเหงือกอักเสบ ป้องกันโรคฟันผุ รวมทั้งเป็นยาสมานแผลในช่องปาก มีสมุนไพรหลายชนิดที่ใช้อยู่และศึกษากันต่อ ๆ มาเช่น น้ำมันกานพลู แต่ยังมีสมุนไพรอีกหลายชนิดซึ่งน่าสนใจที่จะวิจัยหาเหตุผลและนํามาใช้เป็นยาทางทันตกรรม

คอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอน เป็นสื่อการศึกษาซึ่งช่วยในการสอนทันตกายวิภาคศาสตร์สําหรับนิสิตทันตแพทย์ ชั้นปีที่สอง ช่วยเสริมให้ผู้เรียนเข้าใจบทเรียนได้ดียิ่งขึ้น การศึกษาวิชาทันตกายวิภาคศาสตร์ด้วยการบรรยาย เพียงอย่างเดียวไม่น่าสนใจ ผู้เรียนค่อนข้างเบื่อและขาดความกระตือรือล้น เนื่องจากเนื้อหาวิชามีรายละเอียดมาก ดังนั้นคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนจะช่วยให้นิสิตสามารถเรียนรู้และทบทวนได้ด้วยตนเองและศึกษาเป็นกลุ่ม โดยปฏิบัติตามคู่มือการใช้ จากแบบสอบถามของนิสิตชั้นปีที่ 2 ที่ได้ใช้บทเรียนนี้จํานวน 73 คน ร้อยละ 95.5 พอใจโปรแกรมนี้ เนื่องจากช่วยในการศึกษาด้วยตนเองและประหยัดเวลา ร้อยละ 77.4 ต้องการให้มีบทเรียนลักษณะเดียวกันนี้ ในวิชาอื่น ๆ

บทบาทของยาอมฆ่าเชื้อต่อสเทรปโทคอกคัสมิวแทนส์ในการทําให้เกิดกรด, พวงเพ็ชร เดชะประทุมวัน, ทวิช กาญจนบุตร

ในการทดลองเพื่อศึกษาการยับยั้งการเกิดกรดของสเทรปโทคอกคัส มิวแทนส์กับน้ำตาลที่เป็นส่วน ประกอบของยาอม 6 ชนิด ที่มียาระงับเชื้อ โดยนํายาอมมาเพาะกับเชื้อสเตรปโทคอกคัส มิวแทนส์ แล้ววัด pH ในชั่วโมงที่ 1, 3, 6 และ 24 ตามลําดับ เปรียบเทียบระหว่างกลุ่มควบคุมที่มีแบคทีเรียอย่างเดียวและกลุ่มควบคุมที่มีน้ำตาลกับกลุ่มทดลองที่มียาอมอย่างเดียว และกลุ่มทดลองที่มียาอมและน้ำตาล พบว่ามี pH ลดลง ชัดเจนในชั่วโมงที่ 3 โดยที่กลุ่มควบคุมจะมี pH ต่ำกว่ากลุ่มทดลอง นอกจากพวกที่มียาระงับเชื้อเป็น amyl meta cresol ซึ่งกลุ่มทดลองมี pH ต่ำกว่ากลุ่มควบคุม ซึ่งอาจเป็นเพราะเหตุ 2 ประการ คือ ยาตัวนั้นไม่ระงับ เชื้อสเตรปโทคอกคัส มิวแทนส์ และยานั้นมีปริมาณน้ำตาลสูงกว่าอย่างอื่นที่นํามาทดลอง

การเปรียบเทียบผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนทันตกายวิภาคศาสตร์ ของนิสิตทันตแพทย์ที่ได้รับ และไม่ได้รับการเสริมด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์, สุขนิภา วิชัยเฉลิมวงศ์, สุปราณี วิเชียรเนตร

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะเปรียบเทียบสัมฤทธิ์ผลของการเรียนวิชาทันตกายวิภาคศาสตร์ของนิสิตทันตแพทย์ชั้นปีที่ 2 ที่ได้รับและไม่ได้รับการเสริมด้วยโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนวิชาทันตกายวิภาคศาสตร์ นิสิตอาสาสมัครที่เข้าร่วมในโครงการนี้ เป็นนิสิตคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยชั้นปีที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2535 จํานวน 85 คน ซึ่งการศึกษาวิจัยนี้ประกอบด้วย 2 หัวข้อวิจัย งานวิจัยแรกเป็นการเปรียบเทียบคะแนนการทดสอบระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองที่ได้รับการเสริมด้วยโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนฯ กับกลุ่มควบคุมที่ไม่ได้รับการสอนเสริม ศึกษาในนิสิตที่มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยสะสมใกล้เคียงกัน จํานวน 27 คู่ ส่วนงานวิจัยที่ 2 เป็นการประเมินความก้าวหน้าและความเข้าใจในบทเรียนของนิสิตก่อนและหลังการเสริมด้วยบทเรียนคอมพิวเตอร์ ช่วยสอนฯ โดยมีนิสิตเข้าร่วมโครงการ 51 คน ภายหลังจากรวบรวมคะแนนสอบมาหาค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิต ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และนํามาทดสอบความแตกต่างของค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิตโดยใช้การทดสอบค่าเฉลี่ยพบว่า งานวิจัยที่ 1 คะแนนของกลุ่มทดลองสูงกว่าคะแนนของกลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติที่ .001 และงานวิจัย ที่ 2 พบว่าคะแนนภายหลังได้รับการเสริมด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนฯ สูงกว่าก่อนได้รับการเสริมอย่างมีนัยสําคัญ ทางสถิติที่ .001

ฟันปลอมไร้เพดานเป็นชนิดหนึ่งของฟันปลอมทั้งปากบนที่ทําการดัดแปลงโดยตัดส่วนเพดานของฐาน ฟันปลอมออก ฟันปลอมชนิดนี้จะพิจารณาสร้างให้แก่ผู้ป่วยที่ไม่สามารถใส่ฟันปลอมทั้งปากแบบปกติได้ โดยเฉพาะในรายที่มีปุ่มกระดูกกลางเพดานขนาดใหญ่ และไม่สามารถทําการผ่าตัด บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่ออธิบาย ถึงวิธีการสร้างฟันปลอมไร้เพดานสําหรับผู้ป่วยที่มีปุ่มกระดูกกลางเพดาน

ความสัมพันธ์ของฟันคู่หน้าและฟันเขี้ยวกับอินไซซีฟแบบพิลลา, โสภี ชาติสุทธิพันธ์, อิศราวัลย์ บุณศิริ, ภาณุพงศ์ วงศ์ไทย

อินไซซีฟแพบพิลลาเป็นตําแหน่งทางกายวิภาคศาสตร์ที่มีความสําคัญเป็นที่ยอมรับในการกําหนดตําแหน่งของฟันคู่หน้า จึงเป็นสิ่งที่น่าศึกษาเพื่อหาข้อมูลที่ถูกต้องชัดเจน เพื่อใช้เป็นการกําหนดตําแหน่งฟันหน้าของคนไทยในการทําฟันปลอม จากการศึกษาแบบหล่อสภาพช่องปากจํานวน 510 แบบ พบว่าอินไซซีฟแพบพิลลา มีรูปร่าง 7 แบบคือ แพร์ หยดน้ำ รูปไข่ สี่เหลี่ยม สามเหลี่ยม กลม และรูปร่างไม่แน่นอน รูปแพร์ มีมากที่สุดถึง 32.75% จากการศึกษาแบบหล่อที่คัดแล้วจํานวน 360 แบบ ระยะจากจุดท้ายของอินไซซีฟแพบพิลลาถึงปลายฟันคู่หน้ามีค่าเฉลี่ย 11.093 มม. และกําหนดใช้ระยะของจุดนี้ได้ตั้งแต่ 10.932 มม. ถึง 11.254 มม. ด้วยระดับความเชื่อมั่น 95% ระยะจากจุดสุดท้ายของอินไซซีฟแพบพิลลาถึงจุดที่ยื่นที่สุดด้าน เลเบียลของฟันคู่หน้ามีค่าเฉลี่ย 12.114 มม. และกําหนดใช้ได้ตั้งแต่ 11.959 มม. ถึง 12.269 มม. ที่ระดับความ เชื่อมั่น 95% ระยะจุดสุดท้ายของอินไซซีฟแพบพิลลาถึงแนวฟันเขี้ยวตัดกับเส้นกลางเพดานมีค่าเฉลี่ย 2.055 มม. ระยะจากเขี้ยวขวาถึงเขี้ยวซ้ายมีค่าเฉลี่ย 35.457 มม. โดยมีค่ากําหนดตั้งแต่ 35.246 มม. ถึง 35.667 มม. ภายใต้ระดับความเชื่อมั่น 95% ความสูงจากปลายฟันคู่หน้าถึงด้านท้ายของอินไซซีฟแพบพิลลามีค่าเฉลี่ย 7.088 มม. และกําหนดค่าได้ตั้งแต่ 6.943 มม. ถึง 7.233 มม. ค่าที่ได้เหล่านี้สามารถหาความสัมพันธ์เป็นสมการได้เมื่อนําไปหาระยะต่าง ๆ ซึ่งจะเป็นเครื่องช่วยกําหนดแนวและความสูงของแท่งขี้ผึ้งที่ใช้เป็นแนวในการเรียงฟันหน้า

ผู้ป่วยชายมีสุขภาพจิตผิดปกติ ได้ใช้กระดาษทรายขัดถูฟันถาวรที่เหลืออยู่ในช่องปากทั้งบนและล่าง จนสึกมากทุก ๆ ซี่ ผู้ป่วยเสียวฟันแม้ขณะอยู่เฉย ๆ และจะเสียวมากขึ้นเมื่อดื่มน้ำและบดเคี้ยวอาหาร ได้พิจารณาเลือกฟันปลอมที่เหมาะสมให้ผู้ป่วยอย่างมีขั้นตอน ผู้ป่วยพอใจกับฟันปลอมภายหลังใส่ฟันปลอมแล้วสุขภาพจิตของผู้ป่วยดีขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็ว

The Thai Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Examination of the amino acid composition and contents in ethanol extracts from 6 species of Thai medicinal plants revealed that Mucuna collettii contained a large amount of L-DOPA (62.5 umol/g dry wt) which occupied about 83% of all free amino acids in this plant. Some plants yielded a relative high amount of GABA as a major amino acid.

The potential of word processing for non-native student writers is explored through an examination of effects describing the categories of writing process, quantity and quality of writing, planning and prewriting, revising, conception of composing, cognitive processing, setting effects, and attitudes. It is maintained that non-native writers may benefit in significant ways from the attributes of word processing and the conditions surrounding its use in composition instruction.

English courses in Asian high school concentrate heavily on teaching the ability to recognise correct grammatical form (grammatical accuracy). Other goals of language teaching, such as fluency and communicative ability, receive relatively little emphasis. This paper contends that (1) the ability to communicate is the first goal of language teaching as both fluency and grammatical accuracy are meaningless without it, and that (2) an extensive vocabulary plays a much larger role than a knowledge of grammar in achieving this ability.
