A Framework For Ordinary Urban Heritage Mapmaking : The Case Of Trok In Rattanakosin, Bangkok’S Historic Center, Prin Jhearmaneechotechai
NAKHARA (Journal of Environmental Design and Planning)
This research offers an alternative mapmaking framework for Ordinary Urban Heritage (OUH), specifically applied to the Trok (local alleys) of Bangkok's Rattanakosin district. Departing from conventional approaches that might map Trok solely as pedestrian urban patterns, this framework uniquely explores Trok as dynamic urban spaces that enable the manifestation of diverse everyday heritages, including temporary commercial activities, people’s way of living, and sacred spaces, thereby revealing a richer understanding of OUH. The framework's development is grounded in the analysis of existing mapping practices, historical maps, and non-participatory surveys, incorporating five key OUH selection criteria sensitive to these dynamic manifestations: (1) …

NAKHARA (Journal of Environmental Design and Planning)
This study investigates the dialectical relation between tradition and current everyday domestic practices in traditional Balinese dwellings that manifest through the spatial adaptation of their outdoor spaces. Traditional Balinese dwellings consist of a compound collection of partly open pavilions surrounded by open spaces, following the symbolic classification of Balinese cosmology, Sanga Mandala. Dwelling adaptation becomes necessary to enable the support of the changing household needs throughout time, aiming to capture a process that emerges in the current traditional dwellings bounded by a particular cultural order. This study focuses on the spatial adaptation strategies of the outdoor spaces as a …

Policy Mapping For Direction On Green Vertical Housing Development In Indonesia, Dewi Larasati, Furry Andini Wilis, Dewi Nurhayati, Roiswahid Dimas Pangestu, Allis Nurdini, Arnott Ferels
NAKHARA (Journal of Environmental Design and Planning)
Indonesia’s rapid urbanization has accelerated the construction of vertical public housing as a state-led response to growing urban housing needs. Compared to the general housing sector, these projects hold strategic importance due to their large scale, policy alignment, and reliance on public financing. However, this expansion intensifies resource consumption and environmental degradation, particularly in the absence of mandatory green building (GB) standards. Although GB initiatives have been introduced across multiple sectors, their fragmented implementation and weak enforcement diminish their overall effectiveness. Vertical public housing, therefore, presents a key opportunity for policy innovation, where governmental authority can effectively institutionalize sustainability practices. …

Scaffolding plays a critical role in construction by providing safe access to elevated work areas, yet it is often overlooked in progress monitoring and omitted from reports and building information models (BIM) due to its temporary and dynamic nature. This study presents a deep learning–based semantic segmentation system for tracking scaffolding installation progress, distinguishing between scaffolding with and without safety sheets. A custom dataset of annotated site images was used to train the model, and performance was evaluated on both validation and test sets. The system achieved real-time processing speeds of 33.81 Frame Per Second (FPS) (validation) and 31.28 FPS …
Fiction Of Form : Beaux-Arts As Projective Grammar In Yang Tingbao’S Architecture (1930–1981), Tengzhou Feng
Fiction Of Form : Beaux-Arts As Projective Grammar In Yang Tingbao’S Architecture (1930–1981), Tengzhou Feng
NAKHARA (Journal of Environmental Design and Planning)
This article proposes “fiction of form” to examine how architectural form mediates ideological pressures from institutional mandates, state imperatives, and professional discourse while sustaining cultural resonance in China (1930–1981). Through a comparative reading of plans, elevations, and spatial sequences, the article traces how Yang’s Beaux-Arts–inspired design principles were adapted across three Chinese political regimes, as evidenced by Tsinghua University Library Extension (1930), Peace Hotel (Beijing, 1951), and Wuyi Hotel (Fujian, 1981). Respectively, these cases demonstrate institutional legibility achieved through axial order and hierarchical sequencing in the Republican Period (1912–1949); functional alignment via compositional neutrality and façade discipline under early PRC …

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Molecular Investigation Of Clade Classification, Knockdown Resistance And Pathogen Detection Of The Head Louse (Pediculus Humanus Capitis) Collected From Children In Ang Thong, Thailand, Urooj Gul
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Human head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) are medically significant ectoparasites due to their capacity to harbor pathogenic bacteria and the increasing prevalence of insecticide resistance. A total of 112 head lice specimens were collected from children in Ang Thong, central Thailand. Phylogenetic analysis of the mitochondrial cytb gene identified two well-supported clades, with clade A (69.2%) predominating over clade C (30.8%) in the studied population. Molecular screening revealed a high incidence of bacterial associations, with Staphylococcus aureus detected in 96.4% of specimens and Acinetobacter spp. in 2.7%. Furthermore, genotypic analysis of the voltage-sensitive sodium channel (VSSC) gene demonstrated a strikingly …

Optimization And Efficacy Of Car T Cells Derived From Newly Generated Anti-Cd22 Monoclonal Antibody For Blood Cancer Treatment, Wipawadee Ruengdej
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy has revolutionized the treatment of B-cell malignancies. Nevertheless, relapse due to loss of CD19 expression remains a major clinical challenge. CD22 serves as an alternative target because of its consistent expression on malignant B cells, even in CD19-negative disease. Optimization of CD22-directed CAR design is therefore critical to enhance antitumor potency and persistence. Two novel anti-CD22 CAR constructs were generated from monoclonal antibody clones 24A7G6 and 29H9C8, each incorporating either a 4-1BB or CD28 costimulatory domain. The resulting CAR T cells were evaluated for proliferation, phenotype, and cytotoxicity against CD22-positive (Raji, Nalm-6) and CD22-negative …
