Law Enforcements Perceptions Regarding Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking And The Involvement Of Social Workers In These Cases, Adriana Lopez Baca, Melissa Marie Lopez
Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations
Domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST) is a significant issue that affects children, families, and communities throughout the United States. Due to the illegal nature of the problem, it is difficult for law enforcement to identify victims of DMST and when they are identified it is challenging to provide them with services. Because law enforcement often encounter DMST victims through first response calls or within juvenile hall, it is important to understand the collaboration efforts between social workers and law enforcement in order to provide effective services for this population. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to gain an understanding …

Beliefs About The Lgbtq Community Among Social Work Graduate Students, Gina V. Florez, Guillermina Hall
Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations
This research project was a quantitative survey study design to examine the attitudes of 49 Master of Social Work students attending California State University, San Bernardino. Recently, laws regarding same-sex marriage have been rapidly changing. As of this project completion, 37 states have legalized same-sex marriage. Therefore, now more than ever before, it is imperative that social work graduate students feel prepared to adequately provide services to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) populations.
Additionally, and of primary concern to the researchers, this project sought to determine whether graduate students felt that they had received adequate training and …

Legal Process Offshoring: Population Level Learning, Miukesh Sirvastava
Legal Process Offshoring: Population Level Learning, Miukesh Sirvastava
Communications of the IIMA
In recent years, a new high-end industry has emerged from the offshoring phenomenon. Legal process offshoring is a niche market that has raised the bar for the business process offshoring industry. Driven by client demand, legal firms and corporate law divisions seeking cost saving solutions have turned to offshore entities for legal research, document drafting, paralegal services, and other administrative legal tasks. In theory, when populations of like organizations embark on a similar path, learning takes place and knowledge is gained on how best to undertake the endeavor. As more and more legal offices change routines and the way services …

Are Non-Profit Immigration Organizations Ready For A Comprehensive Immigration Reform?, Sandra Lizeth Molina, Deserae Leanna Quezada
Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations
The purpose of this study was to explore whether non-profit immigration organizations are ready for a comprehensive immigration reform. Social workers need to recognize that a lack of readiness among non-profit immigration organizations for a comprehensive immigration reform will lead to a lack of required services for undocumented populations. The sample consisted of twelve religious and non-religiously affiliated non-profit immigration organizations. A qualitative research method was used to analyze the data.
The results of the study concluded that non-profit immigration organizations are not ready for a CIR. Although the organizations are not ready, several factors were found to affect their …
