The Mything Link: Why Sacred Storytelling Is A Key Human Survival Strategy, Ken Baskin
Comparative Civilizations Review
For several decades, societies across the globe have faced a real existential threat with challenges such as global warming. Yet no one in the elite has been able to do anything to improve conditions. We seem to be trapped in the kind of situation that Einstein described when he discussed problems that can’t be solved with the logic that created them.

In February, Daniel C. Peterson and E. Jan Wilson of the FARMS Center for the Preservation of Ancient Religious Texts (CPART) visited with officials in Beirut, Lebanon, and at the Vatican Apostolic Library in Rome to determine the feasibility of digitally imaging ancient religious manuscripts for inclusion in a CD-ROM database. If undertaken, the project stands to benefit not only the many communities whose religious heritages will be preserved, but also Westerners who know very little about Syriac, Christian Arabic, and Armenian theology, liturgy, philosophy, and history-much of it relevant to the study of early Christianity.

The immediate situation that prompted Mosiah2 to institute a system of judges to govern the Nephites was the departure of his four sons. The Creation narrative, found in various places within the canon of scripture of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, describes the institution of two different types of time. The first type of time is established in the “fourth day” with the placement of the astronomical bodies, which act as markers “for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and for years”—that is, common time (Genesis 1:14; Moses 2:14). The second type of time is established in the “seventh day,” when the Lord rests from his labors. Situated as it was at the conclusion of the physical creation and …

Dorothy Wordsworth, Religion, And The Rydal Journals, Emily Stephens Kasper
Theses and Dissertations
Dorothy Wordsworth’s religious practices continued to evolve throughout her life. She was baptized Anglican, but after her mother’s death she resided with her mother’s cousin, where she practiced Unitarianism. When she later moved in with her uncle, she embraced evangelical Anglicanism. Records of her religious beliefs in her twenties are scarce, as after moving to Racedown with her brother William in 1795 and throughout her years living in Alfoxden, she rarely wrote of her involvement with organized religion. Only in the 1810s while at Grasmere did Dorothy Wordsworth begin to record a gradual return to church attendance. Concerning her religious …
