Communication breakdowns among surgical teams are a leading cause of sentinel events and procedural errors. This quality improvement (QI) project aimed to enhance communication perception among OR nursing staff through a structured training program focused on verbal, non-verbal, active listening, and communication under pressure. This quality improvement (QI) project aimed to improve nursing faculty self-efficacy in teaching nursing skills using medium- and high-fidelity simulation. The problem addressed was the increasing number of students requiring multiple attempts to pass skills checkoffs, with some ultimately being withdrawn from the program. Faculty at the project site reported a lack of training and confidence in utilizing simulation technology effectively. A significant gap in standardized discharge procedures was identified at a nonprofit, community-based clinic serving male residential patients with substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring mental health conditions. The lack of a standardized discharge process led to poor follow-up appointment adherence, poor medication adherence and increased risk of relapse. Perioperative nursing is experiencing greater shortages than any other specialty and has been largely removed from undergraduate education. This DNP quality improvement project aimed to impact the recruitment of perioperative nurses through undergraduate nursing clinical exposure and experience. The project addressed the lack of clinical nursing student opportunities in the perioperative department at the partner site to increase interest in perioperative nursing and recruit core staff nurses from the pool of new graduates. The US opioid epidemic crisis led to 700,000 deaths in 2019 alone. Poor adherence to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) strains individuals, families, and the healthcare systems, with rising relapses at the project site highlighting the need for evidence-based intervention. This DNP project examines how mindfulness training for associate degree nursing faculty can enhance educator self-efficacy in implementing teaching methods that reduce anxiety among nursing students before simulation exercises. The primary issue identified is the lack of faculty training in pre-simulation facilitation practices, which is crucial for ensuring students are adequately prepared. Using a pre-test/post-test design, this initiative evaluated changes in educator mindfulness self-efficacy among 14 faculty members. Results indicated a significant improvement in self-efficacy scores. The pre-test mean score was 3.36, which rose to a post-test mean score of 4.60. Before the implementation of this project, students at the project site had experienced minimal exposure to obstetrical nursing care and medication administration. No-show among psychiatric outpatient clinic patients is a major problem due to disrupted clinical flow, reduced productivity, and financial losses. This quality improvement project implemented telehealth services to decrease the no-show rates in an outpatient psychiatric clinic in Texas. This project employed quantitative methods to compare the no-show rates pre- and post-intervention for 90 days. The quantitative data were analyzed by paired t-tests. A total of 1,790 appointments were sampled during the implementation period. The obtained results are statistically significant in decreasing the rates of no-shows for all adult appointments from 18% to 13% (p ≈ 0.0067). New appointment no-shows …

The education of students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment is mandated by law and supported by empirical research. Yet systems of segregation persist and, in Arkansas, at rates higher than the national average. The purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to examine the practices of successful inclusion-focused leaders and to determine how their approach to inclusion was consistent with Transformational Leadership theory.
