Developing The Self-Care Guilt Scale, Mary Lynn Fahey

Purpose: A qualitative study (Fahey, 2023) using Story Theory identified "self-care guilt"—moral distress when engaging in health activities—as a barrier to wellbeing among fathers of children with ASD. This proposed study will develop and validate the first instrument measuring this construct.

Background: Fathers of children with ASD experience depression 3x general population rates (Hoyle et al., 2021) yet show lowest self-care engagement among caregivers (Martinez et al., 2021). Our preliminary work revealed guilt transforms self-care from stress-reducer to stressor, making traditional interventions paradoxically harmful. No existing measure captures guilt as self-care barrier.

Background: Dementia affects more than 55 million people globally and disproportionately impacts Black populations due to inequities in healthcare access. In Canada, Black communities face higher dementia risk and greater barriers to timely, culturally aligned care. In the Greater Toronto Area, Black caregivers carry major responsibilities while navigating fragmented services shaped by race, gender, and socioeconomic status. Although social support reduces caregiver burden, little is known about how Black caregivers access and use support within intersecting social and structural constraints.

Navigating The Midlife Shift: Menopause, Motherhood, And Meaning In Women’S Lives, Michelle M. Ness

Midlife represents a dynamic and often disorienting transition for women, marked by the convergence of menopause, shifting family roles, and evolving professional identities. This mixed-methods study explores how women navigate these intersecting experiences, particularly focusing on the impact of menopausal symptoms on motherhood, work, and relational well-being.

Qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 42 women aged 39–57. Thematic analysis followed Braun and Clarke’s framework, integrating inductive and deductive coding strategies. Themes were identified and refined through an iterative analytic process, ensuring credibility and depth through careful attention to patterns and meaning across participant narratives. Recent environmental change has altered migration timing and winter distribution of many bird species, including Sandhill Cranes. Historically, the Central Platte River Valley in Nebraska functioned primarily as a spring staging area for the midcontinent population, with limited fall use and rare overwintering events. I examined records of Sandhill Crane occurrences during October to January in the Central Platte River Valley from 2015-2026 using incidental observations and aerial surveys starting in 2024. Overwintering Sandhill Cranes were documented in 7 of 11 Dec/Jan, with unprecedented increases observed since 2023, peaking with approximately 42,000 Sandhill Cranes in January of 2026, the largest …

This reflective inquiry examines the first year of a two-year initiative to more explicitly align an established educator preparation program with the Science of Reading (SoR). Situated within a small private university in New York State, the article considers implementation as both curricular revision and institutional change. The process included faculty professional learning, curriculum mapping, alignment of student learning outcomes, revision of common course assessments, development of SoR-aligned models of candidate work, and consideration of clinical experiences. AI alignment is increasingly in the spotlight. However, from a technical concept, the term has been broadened to cover all sorts of potential harms by advanced AI systems. This Article disambiguates three different problems: ensuring that systems pursue intended objectives through acceptable means, deciding which values should guide their behavior, and governing private companies whose incentives diverge from those of society. Drawing on technical research and documented incidents, the Article explains why goal alignment deserves serious attention without requiring claims about human-like intelligence. Introduction: Predominant and notable themes currently being actively monitored in healthcare are nursing satisfaction, retention, and job performance. These variables have been identified as important areas to evaluate as to how they directly impact patient care outcomes. Use of the evidence-based Casey Fink Graduate Nurse Survey and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality- Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) leadership rounding guide highlights that combining structured tools along with leadership presence, style, and interactions is associated with positive changes in patient care, nursing satisfaction, retention, and the overall quality metrics will improve in a specified unit.

This study examines how local governments construct policy innovation claims and the extent to which such claims are supported by substantive novelty, regulatory conformity, institutional capacity, and evidence of public benefit. The study employed a qualitative document analysis with a comparative multiple-case design. The analysis covered 29 documents, consisting of 21 documents related to six policy cases and eight national regulations used as comparative standards. This article examines the tendency of Indonesia’s House of Representatives (DPR RI) in the 2024–2029 term to move toward a cartelized parliament within Indonesia’s multiparty presidential system. It addresses how the dominance of an oversized governing coalition after the 2024 election weakens parliamentary opposition and reduces the effectiveness of checks and balances over the executive. The study employs a qualitative explanatory approach using a single-case study design, process tracing, and documentary analysis. The data are drawn from official state and parliamentary documents, KPU decisions, legislative agendas, democracy monitoring reports, credible media coverage, and public statements by political elites. This article examines the informational value and influence of Indonesian Social Media Influencers (SMIs) in Germany as informal information intermediaries, highlighting how they disseminate knowledge about living in Germany and shape Indonesians' perceptions of educational and employment opportunities abroad. The study adopts a critical narrative literature review combined with reflexive digital observation of publicly available content produced by Indonesian SMIs residing in Germany. The findings suggest that the informational value of SMI content is shaped by three interrelated dimensions: utility, relatability, and credibility.
