Criminological Description Of Crimes Related To Terrorism And Their Causes, Jamshid Ibrohimov Sep 2020

Criminological Description Of Crimes Related To Terrorism And Their Causes, Jamshid Ibrohimov

Review of law sciences

Terrorism is the most dangerous and difficult vocation of our time. In order to solve this social problem, it is necessary first of all to know exactly what terrorism is, its plot, essence, why and by whom it is used as a tool in the fight against terrorism. It is worth noting that now the fact that the identity of the terrorist was not described as a Fox, is one of the main problems in science. In this case, it is also very important to pay attention to the various data on the delivery of mercenaries maksad in the case …

Features Of Voluntary Refusal In Criminal Attempt, Dildora Kamalova Sep 2020

Features Of Voluntary Refusal In Criminal Attempt, Dildora Kamalova

Review of law sciences

Voluntary refusal is directly interrelated with the stages of the commission of the crime, since the correct determination of stage of the refusal can possibly serve as the basis for exemption from criminal liability or conviction. In this regard, the author analyzed the possibility of a voluntary refusal at the stage of a completed and/or inchoated criminal attempt, which is one of the controversial issues of criminal law. Based on the analysis of the theory of criminal law and legislation, the author suggested the possibility of voluntary refusal at the stage of the attempt of finished assassination.

Vanishing Acts: Civil Rights Reform And Dramatic Inversion In Douglas Turner Ward's Day Of Absence, Gershun Avilez Sep 2020

Vanishing Acts: Civil Rights Reform And Dramatic Inversion In Douglas Turner Ward's Day Of Absence, Gershun Avilez

Study the South

Dramatist Douglas Turner Ward's innovative play Day of Absence first premiered in November 1965 in New York City and has seen a recent national revival, having been staged by theatre companies in Berkeley, New York, Washington, D. C., Omaha, and Chicago, as well as the Maitisong Festival in Gaborone, Botswana. It stands as a creative response to the African American civil rights situation after the 1964 act. Ward explores questions of Black labor and mobility and, in doing so, creates opportunities to invert the dynamics that have historically characterized U. S. society.

Despite the discovery of the tubercle bacillus more than 130 years ago, its physiology and the mechanisms of virulence are still not fully understood. A comprehensive analysis of the proteomes of members of the human-adapted Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC) lineages 3, 4, 5, and 7 was conducted to better understand the evolution of virulence and other physiological characteristics. Unique and shared proteomic signatures in these modern, pre-modern and ancient MTBC lineages, as deduced from quantitative bioinformatics analyses of high-resolution mass spectrometry data, were delineated. The main proteomic findings were verified by using immunoblotting. In addition, analysis of multiple genome alignment …

Hydrogel-Mediated Delivery Of Celastrol And Doxorubicin Induces A Synergistic Effect On Tumor Regression: Via Upregulation Of Ceramides, Nihal Medatwal, Mohammad Nafees Ansari, Sandeep Kumar, Sanjay Pal

The release of anticancer drugs in systemic circulation and their associated toxicity are responsible for the poor efficacy of chemotherapy. Therefore, the identification of new chemotherapeutic combinations designed to be released near the tumor site in a sustained manner has the potential to enhance the efficacy and reduce the toxicity associated with chemotherapy. Here, we present the identification of a combination of doxorubicin, a DNA-binding topoisomerase inhibitor, with a naturally occurring triterpenoid, celastrol, that induces a synergistic effect on the apoptosis of colon cancer cells. Hydrogel-mediated sustained release of a combination of doxorubicin and celastrol in a murine tumor model …

Yearning For Sovereignty: The Burden Of Independence, Nerses Kopalyan Sep 2020

Yearning For Sovereignty: The Burden Of Independence, Nerses Kopalyan

Political Science Faculty Research

Hundreds and thousands on the streets, with fists raised, symbolizing a singular maxim: Struggle. The demand for independence and the Karabakh conundrum, inextricably entwined. The nostalgia of 1918, beautiful yet suffocating. Moscow blinked, and Yerevan made its move: the bittersweet burden of state-building. Collective memory is an extraordinary phenomenon, as it transcends generations and imbues within a people an astonishing responsibility, the responsibility of defying history, of seeking a renaissance, and creating anew, a political reality. For the Armenian people, September 21, 1991 marked the realization of this new political reality: the independent Republic of Armenia.

Purpose: Many individual and family hardships are associated with poorly understood palliative care needs arising from advanced dementia within India. The purpose of this paper is to explore the experiences of people in India affected by advanced dementia and to shape educational approaches for practitioners and the local community. Design/methodology/approach: Three focus groups with family carers of people (n = 27) with advanced dementia were undertaken with local communities in South India. One focus group was carried out in English and two in the local language (Kannada) and translated to English. Findings: The findings of the focus groups are presented …

Assessment Of Material State For Predicting The Durability Of Composites, Vamsee Vadlamudi, Muthu Ram Prabhu Elenchezhian, Partha Pratim Das, Rassel Raihan, Kenneth Reifsnider

Institute of Predictive Performance Methodologies (IPPM-UTARI)-Archive

The long term behavior of composites have been extensively studied for the last four decades. Given the heterogeneity of these materials, the damage accumulation mechanisms lead to superior fatigue performance of composites compared to metals. However, due to the ‘sudden death’ behavior controlled by defect coupling, the precursor to fracture plane development of these materials, the challenge remains on how to assess the real-time material state and predict when it becomes critical? In the recent past, broadband dielectric spectroscopy (BbDS) has been used successfully to assess the material state and predict the material state change (triggered by defect coupling) for …

Unsupervised Learning Methods For Identification Of Defects In Heterogeneous Materials, Muthu Ram Prabhu Elenchezhian, Vamsee Vadlamudi, Rassel Raihan, Kenneth Reifsnider

Institute of Predictive Performance Methodologies (IPPM-UTARI)-Archive

The complexity of composite materials due to the nature of their numerous laminated layers, stacking sequences, type of fibers, resin, and other external factors has challenged the world of structural health monitoring (SHM) and non-destructive inspection (NDI). Post-processing of these SHM and NDI methods has been mostly a manual time-consuming process, with human inspection causing errors associated with the bias decision made by NDI inspectors. Recent advances also call for Cure On The Fly (COTF), by integrating NDI with advanced technologies and analysis techniques such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for on-line real-time predictions of a defect, …
