A polypropylene (PP) film is usually used as a dielectric material in capacitors as well as cables. However, PP films may degrade because of the combined effect of temperature and electric field. In an earlier study, plain PP films and PP films loaded with nano-metric natural clay were studied under sinusoidal (AC) electric fields at power frequency and temperatures above the ambient. To better understand the electrical characteristics of PP film under various conditions, the objective of this study is to determine the time-to-breakdown of the plain PP and PP filled with 2% (wt) natural nano-clay when subjected to time-invariant …

Introduction: Nucleated red blood cells (NRBCs) are immature red cells that under normal conditions are not present in the peripheral circulation. Several studies have suggested an association between elevated NRBC and poor outcome in critically ill adults and neonates. We sought to determine if elevations in NRBC value following cardiac surgery and following clinical events during the hospital stay can be used as a biomarker to monitor for mortality risk in neonates post-cardiac surgery. Materials and methods: We constructed a retrospective study of 264 neonates who underwent cardiac surgery at Children's Hospital, New Orleans between 2011 and 2020. Variables included …

Reptiles, like other vertebrates, rely on immunity to defend themselves from infection. The energetic cost of an immune response is liable to scale with infection severity, prompting constraints on other selfmaintenance traits if immune prioritization exceeds energy budget. In this study, adult male side-blotched lizards (Uta stansburiana) were injected with saline (control) or high (20 μg g−1 body mass) or low (10 μg g−1 body mass) concentrations of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to simulate bacterial infections of discrete severities. The costs and consequences of the immune response were assessed through comparisons of change in resting metabolic rate (RMR), energy metabolites (glucose, glycerol, …

As part of an ongoing effort to update the ground snow load maps in the United States, this paper presents an investigation into snow densities for the purpose of predicting ground snow loads for structural engineering design with ASCE 7. Despite their importance, direct measurements of snow load are sparse when compared to measurements of snow depth. As a result, it is often necessary to estimate snow load using snow depth and other readily accessible climate variables. Existing depth-to-load conversion methods, each of varying complexity, are well suited for snow load estimation for a particular region or station network, but …

Declarative models help improve the reliability of software systems: models can be used to convey requirements, analyze system designs and verify implementation properties. Alloy is a commonly used modeling language. A key strength of Alloy is the Analyzer, Alloy’s integrated development environment (IDE), which allows users to write and execute models by leveraging a fully automatic SAT based analysis engine. Unfortunately, writing correct constraints of complex properties is difficult. To help users identify fault locations, AlloyFL is a fault localization technique that takes as input a faulty Alloy model and a fault-revealing test suite. As output, AlloyFL returns a ranked list …

Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
This article shows that the Fermi levels of a nanoscale semiconductor in a quantizing magnetic field are quantized. A method is proposed for calculating the Fermi energy oscillations for a two-dimensional electron gas at different magnetic fields and temperatures. An analytical expression is obtained for calculating the Fermi-Dirac distribution function at high temperatures and weak magnetic fields. With the help of the proposed formula, the experimental results in nanoscale semiconductor structures are investigated. Using formula, Fermi energy oscillations are explained for two-dimensional electron gases in quantum wells (quantum wells, mainly GaAs/GaAlAs heterostructures) with a parabolic dispersion law

Polyethylene oxide (PEO) gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) were prepared using tetrapropylammonium iodide (TPAI). The mass fraction (TPAI) in the electrolyte was varied to increase the productivity of the solar cell. It increased the ionic conductivity of the electrolyte at room temperature from 8.426 1mОhm∗sm and 373K temperature to 18.117 1mОhm∗sm. The increase in ionic conductivity with the addition of TPAI salts was associated with an increase in the diffusion coefficient, mobility, and density of charge carriers.

Calculation The Temperature Dependence The Energy Spectrum Of Charge Carriers In Semiconductors Exposed To A Strong Magnetic Field, Dadamirzayev M.G.
Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
The energy spectrum of free holes in a strong magnetic field is calculated for a non-quadratic dispersion law. The temperature dependence of the broadening of the Landau levels of holes in crystals with the Kane dispersion law has been studied. A new method for calculating the discrete energy spectrum in a quantizing magnetic field is proposed.

Calculation Of Components Of Deformation Sensitivity Of Silicon Samples With Deep Impurity Levels, Khamidov R. Kh., Mamatkarimov O.
Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
In this paper presents that samples of silicon with acceptor impurities have a greater static and lower dynamic strain sensitivity than silicon samples with donor and amphoteric impurities. And samples of silicon with amphoteric impurities, almost does not have static components of strain sensitivity at pulse hydrostatic pressure. In such samples, the strain sensitivity is related only to the temperature and relaxation effects.

Influence Of The Effective Mass Of The Density Of The State On The Temperature Dependence Of The Band Band Width In Solid Solutions P-Bi2-Xsbxte3-Ysey, Sharibaev N.Y., Dadamirzaev M.G., Sharifbaev R.N.
Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
The temperature dependence of the energy spectrum of semiconductors is well explained by the thermal broadening of discrete energy spectra. The temperature dependence of the band gap is considered as broadening of the energy states of the conduction and valence bands. In these works, it was assumed that the effective mass of the density of states does not depend on temperature. However, as experiments have shown, the effective mass of the density of states depends on temperature. These changes in the effective mass change the temperature dependence of the band gap.
