Multimedia data plays an important role in medicine and healthcare since EHR (Electronic Health Records) entail complex images and videos for analyzing patient data. In this article, we hypothesize that transfer learning with computer vision can be adequately harnessed on such data, more specifically chest X-rays, to learn from a few images for assisting accurate, efficient recognition of COVID. The 21st century demands that students develop critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and effective communication skills. To equip learners with these essential competencies, the adoption of competency-based curricula (CBC) incorporates innovative assessment approaches such as purposefully designed homework tasks. While homework is traditionally used to reinforce classroom learning, this study examines it as a multidimensional assessment tool within the CBC framework. The Illinois–Kentucky Fluorspar District (IKFD) three-dimensional (3D) geological data model plays a critical role in the EarthMRI IKFD project, which aims to utilize the vast and detailed geologic maps and datasets that the Kentucky and Illinois state geological surveys possess to develop a Geographic Information System (GIS)-based 3D geological framework model for the district. We consider the problem of jointly enhancing the network throughput, minimizing energy consumption, and improving the network coverage of mobile networks. The problem is cast as a reinforcement learning (RL) problem. The reward function accounts for the joint optimization of throughput, energy consumption, and coverage (through the number of uncovered users); our RL framework allows the network operator to assign weights to each of these cost functions based on the operator's preferences. Yet, these characteristics often fail to translate into the spaces that define public environments, such as parks, natural reserves, or walking spaces in urban life. This problem is systematically rooted in landscape architecture and design's flawed educational and professional setup. The intersectionality of our society should not be washed over by capitalism, gentrification, or the new “green wave” of architecture and construction.
