Lower Bound on Preserved Flood Duration in Fluvial Bedform Stratigraphy (experimental dataset)

This data is collected to assess the role of hydrograph timescale relative to dune migration on the preservation of cross sets in the stratigraphic record. The data presented here are of dune evolution under steady-state conditions, as well as three hydrographs of the same magnitude but varying timescales.

Methodology:

We collected data from four experiments tracking bedform evolution in a 22-m-long, 0.56-m-wide, 0.9-m-deep flume at the University of New Orleans Dynamics of Sedimentation laboratory. This spreadsheet calculates five revenue streams created by California's Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 (SB1): the gasoline excise tax, the diesel excise tax, the diesel sales tax, the Roadway Improvement Fee, and Transportation Improvement Fee. It produces revenue projections for eight different scenarios covering a variety of potential future conditions related to vehicle miles traveled and the adoption of zero-emission vehicles. Key inputs include vehicle miles traveled, numbers of zero-emission vehicles in the light- and heavy-duty fleets, and fuel mileage. All outputs are reported in 2024 dollars.

Accurate knowledge of snow mechanical properties, including Young's modulus, shear modulus, Poisson’s ratio, and density, is critical to many areas of snow science and to snow-related engineering problems. To facilitate the assessment of these properties, an innovative non-contacting laser ultrasound system (LUS) has been developed. This system acquires ultrasound waveform data at frequencies ranging from tens to hundreds of kHz in a controlled cold-lab environment. Two different LUS devices were compared in this study to determine which recorded more robust ultrasound in granular ice mix samples. MXene is a newly discovered family of 2D transition metal carbides, nitrides, or carbonitrides that is predominantly conductive. The most common MXene, titanium carbide (Ti3C2), can be used as a conductive material to enhance the photocurrent generated by photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensors. In order to produce MXene sheets that are of high quality for PEC sensors and other light-based applications, it is imperative that the synthesis methods for MXene production continue to be improved and that an extensive understanding of its properties is gained. Hazara University, which is in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was started in 2002 and its herbarium (HUP) in 2005. Some perform an endoscopic evaluation under anesthesia or computed tomography, which adds to the cost and discomfort. This paper identifies physical properties of an interesterified palm-based fat (EIEPO) that predict oil binding capacity (OBC). A 100% EIEPO sample, 50% EIEPO sample diluted with 50% soybean oil (SBO), and a 20% EIEPO sample diluted with 80% SBO were used to test how saturation level impacts OBC. All samples were crystallized using either a fast (6.4°C/min) or slow (0.1°C/min) cooling rate as well as with or without the application of high-intensity ultrasound (HIU; 20kHz) to generate a wide range of physical properties. Others have demonstrated a relationship between social media use and anxiety, depression, and psychosocial stress. Despite this, practitioners habitually focus conservation efforts on these singular communities, while ignoring ecological mechanisms that explain the wildlife-plant relationships. In doing so, practitioners may overlook alternative vegetation communities that could maintain wildlife populations under alternative conditions (e.g., climate change). This work proposes a novel secret sharing scheme to enhance the security of Laryngeal Spinocellular Carcinoma or Laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (LSCC) images using the Discrete Cosine Transformation (DCT) as a cryptographic tool. The DCT-based secret sharing method divides LSCC images into shares, each containing DCT coefficients that represent the image’s frequency components. The original image can only be reconstructed when a predefined number of shares are combined, ensuring confidentiality and preventing unauthorized access. The aim is to highlight the audiological profile and pathophysiology of mixed hearing loss in individuals with hunter’s syndrome.
