This Excel spreadsheet lists all of the rock samples from Jane Selverstone's research collection that have been archived into the Earth and Planetary Sciences Collections at the University of New Mexico. All samples are listed by original (published) sample number and by an affiliated International GeoSample Number. Samples are grouped by research project, and doi information is given for all publications resulting from work on each project. Rock samples include various combinations of hand specimens, powders, thin sections, and billets from which thin sections were prepared. Research Datasets

The database compiles published data (in Arias-Ortiz et al., 2018) on biogeochemical characteristics (density, organic carbon, stable carbon isotopes and sediment grain size) of soils underneath seagrass meadows in Shark Bay, Western Australia. Pb-210 concentrations of the first 20 cm are included along with C-14 raw ages. The dataset compiles data for a total of 49 cores, 25 - 300 cm-long (11 cores with Pb-210 and C-14 data).

These data were collected in the northern-most reaches of the Andes Mountains in the Piedras Blancas páramo, Sierra de La Culata National Park, Venezuela, during January-March 2014 (dry season). Sites were located in the high Andean páramo (superpáramo), between 4250m-4350m, with slopes of 15-25 degrees, and on northeast facing aspects. We sampled three sites in a 5 km area: Rio Azul (8.8866, -70.8685), Avenida (8.8847, -70.8666), and Gloria (8.8928, -70.8714). In “How green is my oil?” by Azzolina et al., the authors presented an integrated life-cycle model for CO₂-EOR where the CO₂ is sourced from a coal-fired power plant. The model was developed entirely in Microsoft Excel^® to improve transparency and provide a useful tool for other practitioners. This model is an updated version of the model from the article. The cells have been unlocked so they can be modified.

Plant survivorship depends on biotic and abiotic factors that vary at local and regional scales. This survivorship, in turn, has cascading effects on community composition and the physical structure of vegetation. Survivorship of native plant species is variable among populations planted in environmentally stressful habitats like urban roofs, but the degree to which factors at different spatial scales affect survivorship in urban systems is not well understood. This dataset contains annual metal concentrations for the years 2009-2011 within the otoliths of six, offshore Gulf of Mexico fishes: Red Grouper, Epinephelus morio; Red Porgy, Pagrus pagrus; Red Snapper, Lutjanus campechanus; Southern Hake, Urophycis floridana; Tilefish, Lopholatilus chamaeleonticeps; and Yellowedge Grouper, Hyporthodus flavolimbatus. Fish were collected from the northeastern Gulf of Mexico, from approximately the Louisiana Shelf to the West Florida Shelf. For each sample, a suite of 9 isotopes was measured within fish otoliths: 24Mg, 51V, 53Cr, 57Fe, 59Co, 60Ni, 63Cu, 64Zn, and 208Pb.
