Flowers at the Robert Ogden Vault in Fairview Cemetery, Bowling Green, Kentucky. The vault was made available to the Cherry family temporarily until a decision was made as to Henry Cherry's permanent resting place. He is buried in Fairview Cemetery with his wife Bessie (Fain) Cherry.

Robert Ogden was the founder of Ogden College which was merged with WKU in 1929. Ogden College was on the site now occupied by the Ogden College of Science & Engineering.

Because of the importance of drug addiction this thesis will consider the problem of narcotics in the United States medically, sociologically, and psychologically and will offer possible solutions through education, legislation, and medicine. Other works on this subject are: "The Opium Problem", by Dr. Charles E. Terry and Mildred Pellens, and the many pamphlets published yearly by the Narcotics Bureau of the Treasury Department from 1929 to 1937. Children are our most precious heritage, dependent children are equally precious, and they must be given the best care possible. In this thesis, I will attempt to show that good foster home care is the most adequate substitute for a normal home.

The social problem of undesirable aliens started with the great influx of immigrants which began as far back as 1830. At that time the care of paupers and criminals was one of the greatest problems confronting our immigration officials. This problem however was not so serious as it seems because, as soon as a foreign pauper was seized he was put in the poor house, which served also as a jail, and he stayed there until the state was able to deport him.
