The demand for equal rights now among the American Negro population has sparked wide-spread discussion about the causes of the movement. Different authors and leaders, through a wide-ranging assortment of sometimes contradictory and sometimes interlocking reasons, have attempted to explain why the movement arose and why it has kept going. This thesis is a study of the degree of relationship that marriage role expectations of adolescents of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has to sex, church activity, parent's education, employment of mother, and ordinal position.
The major objectives were: (a) to determine if male adolescents would have a higher traditional score than female adolescents on the marriage role expectation inventory; and (b) to determine if marriage role expectations of adolescents are related to sex, church activity, parent's education, employment of mother, and ordinal position.

The two main purposes of this study were to document the events leading to the establishment of the nondiscriminatory employment policy for certificated personnel from ethnic minority groups in the Stockton Unified School District and the subsequent practices which have developed since the adoption of the policy in 1947.

Purpose of the Study
1. To see what Latter-day Saint youth feel are the important factors that lead to a successful marriage; how adequate they feel their knowledge is in these matters, and what source they feel they are receiving their education from.
2. To determine if there is any relationship between the Latter-day Saint youth's feeling of what factors are important to successful marriage, how adequate he feels his knowledge is about the factors, and what he feels is the main source of his knowledge about these factors.
