Egypt And Indonesia: A Structural Analysis, Lawrence D. Weiss Apr 1972

Egypt And Indonesia: A Structural Analysis, Lawrence D. Weiss

Sociology ETDs

The histories of Egypt and Indonesia are presented in the rigorous framework of a modified Marxist model of history. Special consideration is given to the interplay of various factors in the infrastructure, such as the formation and conflict of classes, process of industrialization, role of commercial agriculture, and regional effects of world trade. Epiphenomena such as various forms of government, and ideological expressions are related to structural and historical events. Some attention is given to the creation and resolution of explicit hypotheses dealing with comparative developments of the two countries.

An Annotated Guide To Periodical Publications In Sociology And Related Disciplines (Revised Edition, 1972), M. P. Riley Dr., Kenneth Vogt

Agricultural Experiment Station Rural Sociology Pamphlets (1940-1977)

The students in the Intermediate Sociology class, Fall Semester, 1971, decided that a worthwhile class project would be to up-date the 1964 “A Guide to Periodical Publications in Sociology and Related Disciplines", in view of the fact that there had been a significant increase in University Library periodical acquisitions since 1964. The students believed that an up-to-date annotated guide to periodical literature in the field of Sociology and related sciences would be a useful research tool for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in the social sciences, and, more particularly in the field of Sociology. New Forms Of Heterosexual Marriage And Mating, Robert Lundy Apr 1972

New Forms Of Heterosexual Marriage And Mating, Robert Lundy

Honors Theses

One third to one half of marriages are destined to end in a divorce court. However, in the de jure system or orders, monogamous marriage is the only accepted form with sexual behavior limited thereto. The nuclear family is the economic and residential unit. The expectation is that the marriage should last for the lifetime of the spouses, although increasingly there are provisions for exceptional cases termed failure. Other popular expectations are that the woman will be the socializing agent and the male will be the economic agent. This thesis explores the changing nature of families and marriage.
