The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict has been a major issue since 1948 when the Israelis and Palestinians engaged in a Civil War. One of the driving factors in the conflict is the religious affiliation from each side, with Jewish Israelis clashing with Muslim Palestinians. While religion has been a driving force for hostility, religion can also be seen as a beacon of hope and peace. In our research, we have found that religious affiliation from the Israeli side tends to result in more positive attitudes towards their Palestinian counterparts. • Contrary to assumptions of suppression in Islam, female sexual discourse and agency expresses freedom within the faith.
• Homosexual Muslim men face identity suppression.
• While many think Islamophobia hinders Muslims, in many cases it is shown to motivate and propel them.
• While some believe that Muslims have the right to practice their faith they don’t see what they experience daily to make them feel suppressed.
• Islamophobia is the perpetuated form of racism against those who practice the Islamic faith and incorrectly associate them with extremism and violence.

Through the literary analysis of eight scholarly writings, we sought to answer our research questions and were able to form hypothesis based on the evidence provided by the authors. The proposed research is designed to address major deficits in the knowledge regarding the development of dual-language learners in the U.S. preschool setting, including the lack of information about the impact of free choice play with non-dual-language learning peers and the absence of descriptive data on the social interactions that occur during free play as such. The focus of the study is on the dual-language learners’ growth of executive functioning skills and English language development across the preschool year, in relations to their social interactions during free play with non-dual-language learning peers. The purpose of my internship was to gain advocacy experience in a political setting. I interacted with community members in Ohio’s 10th Congressional District including Montgomery, Greene, and Fayette counties.

Although the election did not provide us the results we had hoped to see, I took away some valuable experience in mobilizing the community to vote for issues that impact this district. Throughout this experience I learned more about civic engagement, public policy, and political activism. Additionally, I reflected the team’s norms of respect, transparency, trust, accountability, and ambition for progress.

The Cuthbertson Family Diaries contain personal diaries of a long-time Girard, Kansas family with Scottish roots.

There are diaries from three individuals from the Cuthbertson Family: Mary Kirkwood; Jessie Smith Cuthbertson; and William C. Cuthbertson.

Mary Kirkwood (1858-1945) was born in Illinois in 1858 to native Scots, Matthew J. Kirkwood and his wife, Janet Craig Kirkwood. At an unknown date, the family moved to Girard, Kansas in southeast Kansas. Mary Kirkwood married Andrew W. Smith, and their daughter, Jessie Smith, was born in 1889 in Kansas. How can we explain—and prevent—such large-scale atrocities as the Holocaust? In Unconscionable Crimes, Paul Morrow presents the first general theory of the influence of norms on genocide and mass atrocity. The purpose of this literature review is to determine how black communities are being impacted by racial/social determinants of cardiovascular health, and to investigate potential healthcare solutions to eliminate these disparities.

As physical therapists, we commonly treat patients following lumbar spinal fusion surgery. Post-op outcomes have been found to be impacted by racial disparities in decision making in whether care providers offer surgical care, differences in access to care due to socioeconomic barriers, and differences in attitudes towards surgical care among ethnic groups.

COVID-19 brought about social distancing mandates that posed as a new barrier to meaningful social participation in the community. The purpose of this project was to understand the impact of social distancing on older adults and senior organizations to better inform the role of OT in helping seniors adapt to towards a new normal within the community. A qualitative study and needs assessment were performed through phone interviews with seniors and organizations that support them from around the United States. Summer 2020 Virtual OTD Capstone Symposium

Individuals with progressive neuromuscular disorders (PND); specifically, Parkinson’s disease (PD), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Huntington’s Disease (HD), and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) often face physical, psychological, and social challenges related to sex and intimacy. Occupational therapy (OT) practitioners are experts in activity analysis and are equipped with unique knowledge of performance skills and client factors to address deficits in occupational performance. Though there is literature presenting the effects of PND on sexual occupations, a gap exists as it relates to qualitative data from the perspective of the individual and their partners.
