服務研習處於2016年年底,推出一項為期3年由香港賽馬會慈善信託基金捐助的賽馬會「關愛.服務.研習@屯門」計劃,透過連繫政府不同部門、非政府組織、教育界和商業機構等持份者,創造跨界別協作的服務研習項目,於社區推動「積極樂頤年」,以應對人口高齡化社會議題。

Jockey Club“We Care, We Serve, We Learn @ Tuen Mun” Programme is a 3-year programme funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust starting from end of 2016. It aims to promote the concept of inter-generational collaboration and active aging through working with different stakeholders including government departments, non-governmental organizations, academia and business partners, and to create a cross-sectoral collaborative S-L platform.

2017 年,是嶺南大學推行服務研習的第十一個年頭。今期【嶺召】為大家帶來六個故事,透過八位學生及畢業生在服務研習經歷中的點滴和感想,我們盼望能與您一起見證服務研習為他們帶來的成長歷程。我們亦想將這份盼望延續,願服務研習能伴您同行,編寫出另一個屬於您的成長故事!

The Office of Service-Learning at Lingnan University works closely with academic departments and community partners in order to provide a platform for students to apply and utilize their professional knowledge in response to various social issues. Service-Learning enhances personal development and facilitates harmony and improvement in society. It fosters positive energy in students and the community, while acting as the driving force of our mission!

One Step Forward • One Decade

In Chinese language usage, “ten” is not only a number but also concurrently symbolizes the culmination of a development stage. As such, very often we can hear about the saying of “achievements made in a decade”.

嶺南彩園項目於2014年9月22日正式啟動,項目由群芳文化研究及發展部下屬的「文化與可持續生計組」主辦,同時得到文化研究系及多個合作夥伴的支持,關注可持續發展、和平、文化、生態、生計等議題,在校園內幾處場地種植有機蔬菜植物。於2016-2017年的下學期,服務研習處與彩園合作,組織社區長者及選修服務研習課程的大學生,善用彩園的有機蔬菜植物為食材,一同設計及製作名為「彩園健康食譜」的書籍,推動社區健康飲食及健康生活。製作食譜的工作於2017年二月底至四月中順利進行,透過超過十小時的服務研習活動及交流會,學生和老友記交流健康烹飪及飲食心得、種植經驗、對彩園植物的識知及食用方法,發揮長幼共融及知識傳遞的精神。

藍地大街的故事, 香港嶺南大學服務研習處

嶺南大學服務研習處為大學生提供不同探索和參與社區的學習平台,在賽馬會「關愛.服務.研習 @ 屯門」計劃下,服務研習處於2017 年年初成功招募了十一位大學生成為「服務研習長者議題專題記者」(下稱「專題記者」)。專題記者於同年二月至四月期間接受了一系列的培訓,當中包括認識社區高齡化的議題、採訪、攝影及寫作技巧等,亦安排參觀媒體機構,了解記者的日常工作及環境;於同年三月至七月期間,專題記者到屯門藍地大街的傳統店鋪進行訪談。

藍地大街(下稱大街)位於新界屯門,是藍地的主要街道,附近有輕鐵藍地站、港鐵兆康站及嶺南大學。大街內有不少的村屋及小店鋪,包括舊式士多、百貨店及糧油雜貨店等,保留傳統市集的面貌,也算是偏離市中心的一條特色街道。在中文系講師蕭欣浩博士的指導下,專題記者撰寫專題文章,並透過文字及相片記錄店鋪的故事。服務研習處亦把文章編成此刊物,藉此加強大眾對屯門社區的認識。

Starting from this academic year, Service-Learning is a graduation requirement for undergraduate students of Lingnan University. This issue of “Slant” shares the stories of Service-Learning courses and projects from three academic departments and an oversea tour so as to demonstrate the positive impact of Service-Learning on course instructors, students and the community.

秉承嶺南大學的教學宗旨「作育英才,服務社會」,自2004 年開始, 「服務研習」滲入不同的本科學科裡,是一種結合學科理論及社區服務的新型教學方式,為學生提供全人發展的環境。從學生在服務中的體驗,不但能把課堂知識在現實中運用,並從中鍛鍊學生獨立思考及反思的能力,也培養他們關懷弱勢社群及關心社會。於2015/16 的第二個學期,嶺南大學中文系的「CHI3202 兒童文學」課程提供服務研習的機會,在課程老師陳惠英教授的出色領導、以及南屯門綜合家庭服務中心和救世軍東涌家庭支援中心的緊密配合下,學生透過該學科的服務研習,與中心小朋友及家長進行互動,以小朋友的真實經歷為藍本,撰寫獨一無二的兒童故事,再收錄為分享集。

服務,從來無分界限。一個笑容、一個擁抱,已經能傳遞愛心。去年暑假,一班大學生決定利用空餘時間走出香港,為一群素未謀面的陌生人服務。在服務的過程中,他們經歷過感人的故事、遇到過驚險的局勢動亂、嘗試過一人獨處異地、更學習過珍貴的知識。種種刻苦的磨練,都成為了寶貴的經歷和故事,為他們的歲月增添色彩。

就讓我們走過印尼、肯亞、埃及、台灣等地方,聽聽他們的故事,看看他們留下的足跡。

Service has no boundaries. A warm smile and a hug can spread love. Last summer, a group of university students decided to take a step out of Hong Kong to serve the unknown. During the service trip, they came across touching stories, encountered turmoil, traveled alone in unfamiliar countries and gained valuable knowledge. All these challenges and hardships are now precious memories that add meaning to their lives.

Let’s walk with them on their paths through Indonesia, Kenya, Egypt, Taiwan and other places, to feel and experience their exciting, yet touching stories.

In this issue of “SLant”, we will further examine the concept of “Think Global, Act Local”, while various Service-Learning stories will demonstrate how this concept addresses different global issues, including domestic workers, women’s rights and sustainable development, locally. 嶺南大學以「作育英才,服務社會」為校訓,於2004年開始將服務研習融入正規的學術課程,並結合具有意義的服務及反思,將學生在課堂所學應用於社會當中。在「CLA9015記遊書寫」的課程中,得到陳惠英教授的指導和引領下,學生透過參與「校園遊寫作計劃」、「牛潭尾社區寫作計劃」和「綠色生態遊寫作計劃」,應用極具創意的寫作方式,為服務機構撰寫遊記,協助知識傳遞及營造可持續發展之社區。

今期通訊將會深入探討人口老化與青年人的關係。我們會從剖析香港銀髮市場的現況開始,然後透過多個與長者有關的服務研習故事,分享嶺大同學運用不同的學科知識,與老師和社區機構一起回應長者需要的經驗。無論是協助長者建立社交網絡,還是為他們撰寫短篇小說,都不難看到嶺大同學服務社會的熱情。我們希望這些故事能為您帶來一點啟發,更期待日後看到屬於您的服務研習故事。

Regard all elderly people as your own parents

In this issue of “SLant”, we will further talk about the relationship between ageing population and young people. The concept of silver market and its current development in Hong Kong will be introduced, while various Service-Learning stories, including but not limited to creating social network and recording life stories for the seniors, will be shared to demonstrate Lingnan students’ passions for serving the community.
