The year 2008 witnessed one of the most violent electoral processes in Zimbabwean history. While extensive research has examined the 2008 election violence, limited scholarly attention has been paid to its effects on children. Using the structural violence framework, this study examines how the 2008 electoral violence affected children in Zimbabwe. The study analysed media reports and secondary texts, complemented by retrospective observations, to explore children's experiences during the electoral crisis. It seeks to expose the less examined consequences of political violence on children. The LSU New Orleans Survey Research Center (SRC) conducted a live-interviewer telephone survey of active registered voters in Orleans Parish and Jefferson Parish. Four hundred randomly selected respondents from each parish were interviewed from September 12th through September 30th. Each parish survey yields a margin of error of +/- 4.9% at a 95% confidence level.

These surveys are designed to provide an ongoing picture of how voters view local government services and the general quality of life. They highlight the problems that are of greatest concern to the voters, as well as areas of satisfaction in their parish. The forty-year …

This study examines two distinct but related dimensions of prohousing policies in California. The central premise of this policy brief is that effective family policy in Egypt cannot be built on public perceptions, ideological assumptions or isolated demographic indicators. It must instead be grounded in robust evidence and a comprehensive understanding of the changing mechanisms through which women form, sustain and dissolve marital unions.

In this study, 20 middle managers are interviewed about the increasing need for flexibility, responsiveness, and change management skills at a large, diverse, and public Southeastern university. The data reveal the middle managers identifying and coping with four paradoxical aspects of their change management role: the cognitive/internal paradoxes of capacity and knowledge and the behavior/external paradoxes of advocacy and process. The results demonstrate how these academic administrators managed the shifting terrain through internal agency (knowledge) and external agency (behavior). This study examines the historical affiliations of past presidents of major U.S. communication associations to identify patterns in disciplinary leadership, organizational representation, and demographic change over time. By tracing the institutions associated with these leaders, the analysis documents both continuity and change in the sources of visible leadership within the field. Findings reveal substantial institutional concentration within individual associations, with a relatively small number of universities accounting for a disproportionate share of presidential terms. Problem definition: A significant portion of the food loss in agricultural supply chains occurs at the farm level and has been linked to high cosmetic standards adopted by retailers regarding the size, color, and shape of the produce. We examine the economic incentives for retailers to adopt such high standards and their impact on food loss. Methodology/results: We build a sequential game between a retailer and a farmer, where the retailer signs a contract with the farmer, specifying a cosmetic standard as well as the wholesale price and contract volume. In this policy brief, we discuss the emergence of early college programs in Massachusetts and the possibilities they present, with a focus on Latine students. We begin by providing a brief overview and history of early college as a national intervention, then turn to measures of the initiative's success for Latine students and their families in the Commonwealth. Our purpose is to take stock of Massachusetts’ early college initiative; examine the participation rates and outcomes of Latine students; and provide evidence-based recommendations to policymakers and practitioners for creating more equitable, culturally sustaining, and ultimately more effective programs for participating students.

Artificial intelligence now drives core corporate decision, such as loan approvals and hiring screens, yet corporate boards have largely treated its governance as a management-level policy questions rather than a fiduciary obligation. This paper argues that this framing is mistaken, using Delaware's Caremark doctrine, as refined by Marchand v. Barnhill, In re Boeing, and In re McDonald's. A qualitative approach was employed within an interpretivist paradigm, using an open-ended questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. This article examines how sustained interaction with such frictionless AI systems may reshape the developmental conditions under which social selfhood forms and is maintained. This study examines the discrepancy between normative judgments regarding alleged abuse of power and voters’ electoral behavior in the context of the 2024 general election in Indonesia. Using survey data from urban voters in Jakarta, this study operationalizes democratic ambivalence as the tension between normative attitudes toward the candidacy of Gibran Rakabuming Raka (Gibran) and respondents’ voting behavior. The results of descriptive analysis, cross-tabulation, and multinomial logistic regression indicate that the discrepancy between normative evaluation and electoral preference is the norm for the respondents. Between 2002 and 2022, over 125 college athletes died by suicide, and Division I athletes represented 45% of these deaths. In 2023, Black women college athletes at Division I universities identified racism as a mental health stressor at a higher rate than their non-Black peers. The intersectional nature of social identities and athlete status may create gendered and racialized stressors that are uniquely experienced by Black women athletes. To address gaps between research and psychotherapeutic intervention for trauma and trauma-related issues, the current study elicited and analyzed the perspectives of licensed trauma therapists via a concept mapping process. A literature review was conducted to explore the history and limitations of trauma’s current medical use as outlined by Criterion A of posttraumatic stress disorder in the DSM-5-TR. To answer the research question regarding how practitioners understand trauma, the researcher recruited licensed trauma therapists (n = 17) to participate in concept mapping. การเผยแพร่ข้อมูลบนสื่อออนไลน์มีลักษณะคงอยู่อย่างถาวรและสามารถเข้าถึงได้ตลอดเวลา เมื่อข้อความอันอาจเป็นการหมิ่นประมาทถูกเผยแพร่ผ่านแพลตฟอร์มดิจิทัล ปัญหาทางกฎหมายจึงเกิดขึ้นว่าควรเริ่มนับอายุความเมื่อใด เนื่องจากภายใต้หลักการเผยแพร่หลายครั้ง (Multiple Publication Rule) การเข้าถึงเนื้อหาแต่ละครั้งอาจถูกตีความว่าเป็นการกระทำความผิดใหม่ ส่งผลให้อายุความถูกขยายออกไปอย่างไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด ทำให้ผู้เผยแพร่ต้องเผชิญความเสี่ยงทางกฎหมายอย่างไม่มีกำหนด อันก่อให้เกิดผลกระทบเชิงยับยั้ง (chilling effect) ต่อเสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดเห็น และเกิดความไม่สมดุลระหว่างเสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดเห็นกับสิทธิในชื่อเสียงของบุคคล บทความวิจัยนี้ศึกษาวิเคราะห์มิติปัญหาทางกฎหมายว่าด้วยการกำหนดจุดเริ่มต้นการนับอายุความของความผิดฐานหมิ่นประมาทที่กระทำผ่านสื่อออนไลน์ โดยมีขอบเขตการศึกษาครอบคลุมถึงแนวคิดว่าด้วยการสร้างดุลยภาพระหว่างเสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดเห็นกับการคุ้มครองชื่อเสียง การตรวจสอบหลักเกณฑ์การนับอายุความตามประมวลกฎหมายอาญาและประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ของไทย และการศึกษาเปรียบเทียบพัฒนาการ บรรทัดฐานคำพิพากษา และบทบัญญัติทางกฎหมายของประเทศอังกฤษและสหรัฐอเมริกาที่นำหลัก Single Publication Rule มาปรับใช้ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การปรับใช้หลักการนับอายุความแบบเดิมที่ถือว่าการเผยแพร่ซ้ำแต่ละครั้งเป็นความผิดใหม่ไม่สอดคล้องกับลักษณะของสื่อออนไลน์ และก่อให้เกิดภาระเกินสมควรแก่ผู้เผยแพร่ จึงควรนำหลัก Single Publication Rule มาใช้ โดยถือว่าการเผยแพร่เนื้อหาที่มีสาระสำคัญเดียวกันเป็นการกระทำเพียงครั้งเดียวและเริ่มนับอายุความนับแต่วันที่เผยแพร่ครั้งแรก เว้นแต่การเผยแพร่ครั้งหลังจะมีความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสำคัญจึงจะถือเป็นการเผยแพร่ใหม่ อย่างไรก็ดี การนำหลักดังกล่าวมาใช้ควรกำหนดรายละเอียดและกลไกทางกฎหมายเพิ่มเติม อาทิ การให้ดุลพินิจแก่ศาลในการขยายอายุความ การกำหนดขอบเขตระยะเวลาและการนับอายุความจากวันที่เผยแพร่ครั้งแรกให้ชัดเจน ตลอดจนมาตรการที่ใช้บังคับกับคลังข้อมูล แพลตฟอร์ม และผู้เผยแพร่ เพื่อสร้างความสมดุลระหว่างเสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดเห็นกับสิทธิในชื่อเสียง ให้สอดคล้องกับบริบทของสังคมดิจิทัล
