The Vanguard
Some forty-five professional church workers visited Holy Family Lutheran Church (ALC) last summer to hear Pastor Fred Downing speak of his ministry there. Describing his heavily populated north side Chicago neighborhood, he told of the tensions that might rupture into riot at any moment. He alluded to manifest resentment and hostility by black towards white. He spoke of increased evidence of "soul brother" signs in the windows of small Negro-owned businesses.

Democracy On Trial In Asia, Jooinn Lee
Democracy On Trial In Asia, Jooinn Lee
Journal of the Minnesota Academy of Science
A study of the feasibility of democracy in the developing nations in Asia. The premise of this study is that the Asian concept of democracy is not tantamount to the Anglo-American counterpart. The various types of democracy that exist in the new nations of Asia today are, in fact, alternative to Western democracy and are hardly democracy at all. Rather, they are authoritarian regimes. The emerging nations of Asia are at the threshold of political modernization, and such contingency can be met by a particular socio-political system. The authoritarian regimes of Asia are such systems in point. The requisites of …

UNLV Basketball Programs
One of the first questions asked by newcomers to the Southern Nevada community is "how good is the public school system from kindergarten through college?" (In this case, Nevada Southern University) . Contributing heavily to the idea that Clark County is a good place to raise boys and girls are competitive athletics, from interscholastic to intercollegiate. Many school systems and universities have found that competitive athletics spark academic programs and lead to the fullest development of the individual - which is what education is all about in the first place.
It is to Nevada Southern University's credit that fundamental programs …
