A Survey Of Publications In The Junior High Schools Of Milwaukee And Suburbs, Nina M. Polcyn

Bachelors’ Theses

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the publications in the junior high schools of the city of Milwaukee and suburbs. In brief, the history, the methods of assigning news, the selection of staffs, the instruction in journalism, the supervision by the adviser are included. It is the medium through which he expresses himself; his whole effectiveness depends upon the efficiency of that medium. If he wishes to be an advertiser, publicity director, layout man, make-up editor, magazine editor, or any one of a dozen related fields, his position is aggravated--he must have at least a rudimentary knowledge of the type with which he is to work.
