The American College Testing Program's Institutional Self-Study Survey was used in this study to consider USU students' goals, achievements, and evaluations of their collegiate experience. Goals included were students' educational majors, vocational plans, final college degree sought, and the relative importance attached to attaining Vocational, Academic, Social, and Non-Conventional goals. Achievements studied were both intellectual and nonacademic out-of-class accomplishments, and students' perceived progress in achieving Intellectual-Humanistic, Group-Welfare, Scientific-Independent, and Practical-status outcomes of their collegiate experience. Student evaluations of instructors, college services, selected policies, practices, facilities, and required courses were also studied. National normative data were compared with USU data in …

Persons concerned with both higher education and community service came together in mid-1969 to discuss the pros and cons of service-learning programs and to determine the need for such programs. The participants at the conference recommended: (1) that colleges and universities encourage student community service, assist in assuring disciplined learning as part of this service, and award academic recognition for the learning acquired by students in service projects; (2) that federal, regional, and state and local governments, colleges and universities, and private organizations provide opportunities and supply the funds required for as many students as are needed and are willing …

The Spatial Variation Of Voting Behaviour In Canada In 1963, Alex Yin-Cheung Mok

Theses and Dissertations (Comprehensive)

Previous studies in different countries have unfolded consequential relationships between a number of socio-economic factors and voting behavior. Ethnicity, religion, trade or profession were among the most useful voter characteristics in explaining party preference. While hypotheses of voting behavior for Canada are also prolific, most of them were based upon local studies. The present study of 53 selected incorporated cities in 1963 general election attempts to test such hypotheses at the national level. The majority of the proposed independent variables were derived from the previous case studies. The hypotheses were tested by means of a computerized multiple regression analysis.

In order to plan the future development of the Canadian Shield within a conceptual framework as suggested by the Mid-Canada Corridor concept, both the presently developed and potential, natural resources of this area need to be evaluated for knowledgeable development and management. To this purpose, various areas of nickel sulphide deposits within the area of the Canadian Shield have been studied with the object of determining similar sequences of intrusive events and their spatial relationships.

The Designer's News was a student-run weekly newspaper published in the late 1960s. The issue of May 19-25, 1969 featured an article about the RISD Landscape Architecture department's study to save Block Island, RI. There also was an interview with John Torres about summer programs at RISD and at a school in Vermont, and an article about a RISD photo student who taught local pre-teens about photography. Also included was an article about the Rhode Island Art Festival and some RISD students who were volunteering their time to help.

A Journal compiled by Duane A. Stober for a 1969 Wofford College Interim project. The project was a canoe trip on several South Carolina rivers from Pacolet to Charleston. The project studied the biology, history, and geology of the river system in addition to canoeing on the rivers. The tour took place between January 9 and 21, 1969.

This study deals with the economic geography of the Ontario broiler chicken industry. The broiler industry is defined as one “encompassing all those business activities associated with broiler production inputs such as chicks and feed, the growing of broilers, and their processing and distribution from processing plants to final consumers.” The broiler industry is a segment of the poultry industry.

This study will deal specifically with the locational or spatial aspects of the industry and with teh flow of produce from processing plant to consumer.

The Locational And Legal Aspects Of Recreational Open Space In The Urban Community, Donald Carman Wilson

This study develops a locational model for open space within the urban community based on the open space standards set down by the Community Programs Division of the Department of Education for the Province of Ontario and utilized by many of the municipalities throughout Ontario. A theoretical deductive locational model was developed and applied to the cities of Kitchener-Waterloo to determine the locational and acreage adequacy of parks within a given set of standards. A Systems Approach To The Location Of Golf Facilities: A Problem In Urban Recreation, Kenneth G. Mccleary

The major objective of this thesis is to develop a location model for golf facilities in Waterloo and Wellington counties. This is achieved by approaching the problem empirically within a systems framework. A description of the physical sites, the population, and the activity is presented, and then the demand for the activity is established by using two techniques: an income regression model, and a minimum population requirements model.

By combining the demand estimates with the distance parameters derived from a golfer questionnaire, a market potential surface map is established. This provides a basis for the analysis of interaction within the …
