100th Annual Report Of The Board Of World Missions, Reformed Church In America
Board of Foreign Missions Annual Reports
The Board of Foreign Missions (later, World Missions) was organized by the General Synod in 1832. The board was under the direction of the RCA but was also under the authority of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. David Abeel led the first mission of the RCA to the island of Borneo in the Dutch East Indies in 1836. Missions also sprouted in four primary target areas: Japan, India, China, and Arabia. In 1857, the board broke away from its ties with the American Board of Missions and established independent missions. Under its current name, the board is …

The International Attitudes Of Student In California High Schools, Paul M. Berry
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
An eleventh-year group of American history pupils had been placed under my guidance in a nearby High School. Some four or five weeks after undertaking the task of teaching this group, the World War period chronologically made its appearance. Now, it was not my intention to teach the war in terms of battles, victories, territory lost, or territory regained. This I sought dilligently to do in the following manner: At the beginning of this section one entire period was spent in discussing with …

After the experiments of Faraday, Maxwell, Hertz and such men as these, electricity and magnetism became a vital part of human life and endeavor. Within the last twenty-five years the advances in electricity have been very rapid. The action of the electric current is a vital part of many developments and is helping to make human life more enjoyable and interesting.

A Pictorial Outline On Interior Decoration For The Average Small Home, Walter Murray
A Pictorial Outline On Interior Decoration For The Average Small Home, Walter Murray
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
This "Outline of Interior Decoration" is termed "Pictorial" because as much of its value lies in its pictures as in its text. Although emphasizing only the major points of the subject, it is however intended to provide a general study of Interior Decoration for the ordinary reader or the student. It is felt that for both this Thesis will offer an artistically sound and practical guide for the decoration of the simple, small house.
