Amerindian Creation Myths And A Common Tradition, Robert L. Lail Jun 1950

Amerindian Creation Myths And A Common Tradition, Robert L. Lail

Bachelor of Divinity

Thus the reader has been led to the subject of this thesis. He is aware of a universal consistency of beliefs. It is quite evident that there is a likeness between these beliefs and the accounts of Scripture. The reader is also aware of the fact that there is a difference of opinion among students of anthropology concerning the origin of these similarities. With this overall view in mind, the author has decided to limit the investigation to creation myths, and, with these, the concept of a Creator-God. The author has limited the thesis further to myths and fragments of …

The Christian And Government, A. M. Rehwinkel May 1950

The Christian And Government, A. M. Rehwinkel

Concordia Theological Monthly

Good government is one of the most precious temporal gifts God gives to a people, while a vicious, corrupt. and incompetent government may become the greatest curse. Every citizen is therefore vitally interested in the establishment and maintenance of good government. The Christian, however, as a citizen in "two realms" has an even greater stake in good government than the non-Christian. According to 1 Tim. 2:1-4 good government is necessary not only for the individual's physical and temporal well-being, but also-and this primarily -for the carrying out of God's gracious purposes concerning the eternal welfare of all men.

A Statement On Parents' Rights And The School Question, A. C. Mueller

Concordia Theological Monthly

The United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany, The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and the National Lutheran Council invited educators and theologians of the United States, Germany, and other European countries to a study conference (June 1-10 at Bad Boll, Germany) on parents' rights and the school in the modern state. This was the first of four study conferences, and when the Germans set apart the entire conference for the study of Christian education and its current problems, they indicated how vital this problem is in Germany today. The findings of this seminar were summarized in the statement which is herewith submitted.

Mormon Settlement Of Snake River Fork Country, 1883-1893, Norman Earl Ricks

Theses and Dissertations

The most interesting and important place in the world is where a man lives. His home becomes the finest place on earth regardless of its merits in relation to other habitats. After years of residence the history of the country takes on reality and significance and a long acquaintance reveals elements of romance and adventure that enhance ones love of his surroundings. This is one of the reasons for this thesis topic. During a young impressionable life the stories of Indians, trappers, pioneers, rustlers and polygamist, have been constantly a part of the environment of the author. Long trips in …

Bachelor of Divinity

As the title indicates, this thesis represents an attempt of the writer to set forth clearly the events which lead up to the founding and early development of the Philippine Mission. To make this study, it was necessary to read the autobiography of Alvaro Carino and see the mysterious workings of God in directing this man to become a member of the Lutheran Church and eventually the Church's first pioneer Filipino missionary to the Philippines. The present study of the Lutheran Philippine Mission will take the reader up to the end of December, 1951.

Bingham Canyon, one of the largest of these, is located on the eastern slope of the range and drains into Salt Lake Valley.
