A Brief History Of The Namru-3 Medical Zoology Program, Harry Hoogstraal

The NAMRU-3 Medical Zoology program began during Easter week of 1950. We had just closed the NAMRU-3 field station at Torit, in Equatoria Province of soulheastern Sudan, and were heading homeward to the United States. However, the offer to remain in Egypt for a year or two to develop a Medical Zoology department at NAMRU-3 provided an interesting challenge after working for several years in tropical forests and grasslands of Africa and other continents. Pulse And Impulse In The Sinus Node, Thomas N. James

Recent experiments at the Henry Ford Hospital indicate that a relationship exists between pulsation in the sinus node artery and impulse formation by the sinus node. This paper describes the experiments and presents anatomic, physiologic and pharmacologic evidence along with observations that should interest the physicist and mathematician, as well.

Art In Psychotherapy, Robert R. Schopbach

Art is a tool too often neglected in psychotherapy. A careful study of a patient's drawings will provide information concerning diagnosis, dynamics, and progress. If, in addition, the patient explains and elaborates upon the content and symbolism, the drawings become excellent psychotherapeutic devices providing an entry into the patient's unconscious.

Normal and hypophysectomized rats were divided into equal homogeneous groups to determine the effect of cholestyramine, corn oil and cholesterol on the excretion of fecal bile acids and sterols. Bile acid turnover rates, pool sizes, and spectrums were studied and compared.
